Went to order today with red bricks and the backpack base plate is unavailable. Total brick block.

No worries.. more parts just came off the machine today. They are building up and should be in the store early next week.

That looks great. But can't wait for the single Redvolt XL module!

Before they were released, I always thought the DUAL Battery module was going to be the single RedVolt XL Module. I figured it was going to have the 2 slots for the batteries BOTH in the back, so it could accommodate either 2 RedVolts or 1 RedVolt XL. I guess that would of been a flawed design since the batteries would of been in the back and the modular ability would end there , not allowing other modules to connect to the back of it.

A redvolt XL module would be the perfect end "cap" for me. Not a huge fan of the redmote, although its very pretty.

I havn't taken the REDVOLT XL module prototype off my camera since it came out of the oven. The fact that it also charges the batteries on camera while your plugged in makes it even better. Can't really say enough good things about it. But there will always be V lock systems that need to use V-lock batteries, and this is where the Backpack Quickplate comes in.

Well that cat's out of the bag!

So, just for folks who travel and since REDVOLT XLs fit within nearly all flight restrictions. You could potentially hold 2 REDVOLT XLs and the REDVOLT Charger as well as having one attached to your camera body and travel with your A/C adapter. 3 batteries all being charged at night yielding about 4.5 hours of camera up-time. Or heck, add another two REDVOLT XLs into that mix and get about 7.5 hours of up-time. All pretty lightweight and super portable.

You guys have learnt a lesson about the importance of providing rock-solid battery option as well as supporting the existing power solutions. Good signs that RED is maturing ;-)

So, dammit, when is this big boy going to drop?

And will it have a power tap?

Meaning the single RV XL module.

Can someone remind me where that picture (that doesn't actually exist) was posted.

You can break your own rules. I don't think anybody here would complain. But, hey. This thing "doesn't exist" and we aren't supposed to know about it anyways.

Yeah.. My inability to appreciate the virtue of patience unfortunately gets in the way of the element of surprise. I entered counseling to help overcome that about 2 years ago and I probably should ask for my money back.
