  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

May Product Delivery Update

Since the thread has transmogrified into a generic "requests" thread... I'd like to know if Epic's hardware architecture could allow short (as in 10 seconds max) bursts of very high framerates?

(I asked this earlier in one of the NAB threads but I don't think it was ever commented on, so...)

thank goodness i am under orders to keep watching reduser until that firmware is released... now im lurking here professionally instead of recreationally :thumbsup:

After Power management on the next build, could I put my vote/request in for some other Ana modes too (so we have a spread of Ana modes as with the RED ONE?).

Overall, looks to be a great build to address some of the reoccurring issues some have - and keep a lot of people happy too!

I am unclear about what's really in upcoming firmware, if anything, for Scarlet in terms of resolution. 5K HD at 23.976 would be awesome! 5KHD at 12 fps would be just about as useless as 5k at 12 fps. I know there has been talk of 4K HDRx still possible for Scarlet. Wondering if that's still true.

Resolution - nothing really. Clean feeds for external recorders, increased frame rate at 1k, +*X*K HD formats. But did you really buy a Scarlet expecting that they would at some point enable 5K at 24p?

I need ths firmware for a shoot tomorrow. Does the Beta version of 3.0.6 have clean outs without black bars on the sdi out? Does the new firmware not have the black bars with 5K HD

Man, what a pain, everytime I turn around I have to get a new camera...seriously...giving me a new camera once a month is kind of crazy good...how much better can you guys be?

according to the list quoted above my post. yes the scaling issue is fixed. im also awaiting this feature

Anamorphic is not out of the question for Scarlet..

Gyro support means we have turned on the sensors... info will be sent to metadata for various programs to work with.. all that work obviously needs to be done as we work with 3rd paries.

You guys should add an artificial horizon to the camera's "Tools". That'd be super handy!

It'd also be great to have an on-screen [or on-REDmote] readout of the current tilt of the camera. Perhaps where the exposure reads for stills lenses? I'd love to never get out the iPhone level app again.

Can't wait for the new firmware!

Brilliant idea:-) Could become an in camera bubble level to balance steadicam rigs!!!
