  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Laowa Cine Zoom (OOOM) - Affordable S35 glass?

Little bit more info trickling through...

A bit more info on American Cinematographer:

And notice on the Laowa FB page about the 25-100mm being demo'd at NAB:

Is there anyone at NAB who could drop over to the Laowa booth (C11738) to provide some first impressions?

I took a closer look and the lens is pretty solid! The mechanics feel smooth like my Rokinon Cine DS lenses and the image is quite sharp and pleasant looking overall. The bokeh looks nice with maybe a slight ring around the edges and there is some cat’s eye distortion on the edge of the frame but again, ever so slightly, and it isn’t very apparent at the wider end. I would definitely consider this lens for a cinema zoom option on my next project, I really love the Laowa line and I’m eagerly awaiting the cine versions of the 9mm and 12mm lenses which should be out around September! :)

Do they have a price yet?

Yes, Newshooter just published an article about it.

US$6,500 and it comes in EF or PL mount. But looks unlikely that the mount is interchangeable.
