Hey Guys,

I was thinking about making a database to help people compare all the different rehouse lens options out there.

I was thinking we could include a column for manufacturer, original lens, focal length, speed, weight, focus throw, build material, parfocal/varifocal, price, mount etc. Let me know what else should be added in.

For now the lenses I would include are:

duclos 11-16
gl optics 11-16
tokina 11-16
tokina 16-28
gl optics 16-28
ruby 14-24
allstar 50mm
gl optics 70-200
allstar 80-200
gl optics 100mm
gl optics 135mm
gl optics 300mm

Any others I should be considering? I have looked at offerings from eastern enterprises but couldnt get an email back so I wont even bother.

Great list of east/west newcomers. Now add the Englishmen who started it all in the 90s...

True Lens Services: Cooke Speed Panchro with cam focus movement, similar to S4 lenses. (TLS is truly a great outfit. Read aomething about them tackling Leica R glass next.)

Van Diemen: Leica Summilux, Leica Macro

There's also P & S Technic, I think they're taking on more than just the Speed Panchros now. Their re-housing is smaller and less advanced compared to TLS,but possibly more affordable. Finally Visual Products is putting PL mounts, 80mm fronts and derlin gears on old Cooke, Schenider etc lenses. Not a re-housing but some might consider it an option.

I don't count PCHood or X Circle primes for that matter because you are simply adding things on top of a stills lens similar to a duclos cinemod.

Rokinon cine primes do not count because they are a product that is available straight from the manufacturer, just like CP2's.

Edit: I think we should also include a section in the database regarding whether or not it is necessary to provide your own lenses. For example TLS will not provide cooke panchros and I'm assuming they wont provide leica r's either if they are indeed doing that conversion.
