  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB13- DSMC FAN 2.0 Upgrade Kit

Has that single Redvolt XL module been announced anywhere else?! Did I miss something? That's exactly what I've been waiting for! Can't wait! Does it also take two regular Redvolts?

Sign me up!

Being able to hotswap 2 of the smaller redvolts would be great!

What clarification?

Meaning when can we get our plates modified, how long the turn around, etc?

the fan combo looks great, but will be a drag if the camera needs to be down while the top plate is away (some of us rely on that part for mounting audio gear, monitors, etc)

Thanks Phil.

Against all of our Adult Supervision's guidance, here is a pic of the aforementioned new top plate that is coming.

Let us just pretend that is the only thing going on here :)

Beautiful!!

The Top Plate (which I just got mine recently) which I'll send it in to get adjusted for the new Fan, and sale it, and get this new one in is stead as I love it!!

Also love and can wait to get and play with the new Back XL Redvolt plate, that is what I have been also waiting for, as it is simply a great compact solution, when not wanting a V mount battery, yet needing the extra power, and swap capacity with the side handle.

Oh, and thanks on the snick preview of the Dragon... I won't tell M8 I seen it, or She will get real jealous about it... ;)

Is there any way to compare the difference between the old front fan + new top fan and a full 2.0 set?

I'm thinking about getting the top fan first, holding my breath until I'm able to upgrade the body and get the new front fan along with it.

Does this make any sense at all? (Except of course the savings when getting the full kit)

Ketch, don't you think the modded plate will look exactly like this one? I'd guess it will.

But maybe Jarred can clarify!?

Very true , Ketch. Of course it could be that they just shave off a small piece from the bottom. If thats possible its certainly easier :)

I thought they might cut out the air duct cover part and replace it with the shown cover portion.

I'm curious how the Meizler Module will have to evolve for the front fan, as it looks like it currently presses up right against it.

I'm very curious about this too.

Wow! Now I'm REALLY curious!!!

For all intents and purposes.. erase that image of the Miezler out of your minds. Everything has changed.
haha, seems like I have seen some non-existing stuff at the RED GERMANY opening then -> and I thought it did work pretty well on-site already... Well if things are getting better then good I don't mind of corse ;)

My guess. RED has figured out how to lose the mega heat sink on top and it will be flush with the rest of the body. Possibly with a similar dual fan design?

That is not a heat sink, but rather a cover for the many antennas. The top of the module is flush already. Or was anyway... :reddevil:
