Learn how Bethel Church Production Team is utilizing Red Komodo 6K's In their live broadcasts.

I think it was interesting to see them using some type of blackmagic design hand grip, and could it and was it used to start and stop recording.

iPhone 12 Pro Max VS Camara RED Komodo Cinema | PUEDES VER LA DIFERENCIA??? |

I apologize that this is in Spanish, however I thought it was an interesting comparison and that you could basically just watch it for the video comparison which really doesn't require that you understand exactly what he was saying. The comparison starts at about the 1:42 minute mark to the 4:00 minute mark for the first reveal. It starts another comparison at about the 4:14 minute mark to about the 6:33 minute mark. The second reveal is shown at about the 6:38 minute mark.

The first clip was some of the best looking Komodo footage I've seen in a while(color, motion, feel). The second(the standoff) looked like video. There's just something about the motion and light that don't feel right. And I've been seeing that on a lot of the footage that has been coming out from it, lately.

As being new to Red community, I am loving the IQ so far. OFC I'm still waiting on some parts, like WC b box and WC amount, but just got my SmallHD w Komodo control and am loving that.. Its not so bright so IDK how it will do outside, I hope its useable, haven't had time to test but the old 5.5" is perfect size for Komodo.. Waiting on my handles from title for focus and start stop w nucleus nano and waiting on my dzo vespids...

However my ? is will Red release a roadmap along with a timeframe for upcoming firmware releases? I know Sony always released roadmaps and that way you knew what to expect. Sony was always improving the firmware over life cycle and sometime bigger improvements like increasing frame rates for better slow motion were a paid upgrade..

I heard about RF functionality break through a few weeks ago, but nothing since. But I have yet to get an answer about gyro scope data? I was told Komodo had gyro sensors but never activated.. Was also told not to hold my breathe that Red said dsmc2 had gyro too but they never implemented it? I think gyro would make a HUGE deal if they could get the NLES to add it or have their own catalyst browse type software..

Im still waiting on a speed booster, no 1 knows if canons c70 will be blocked from working w Komodo. canon could block it. plus the RF protocols still advent been reverse engineered yet. Metabones would no allow communication for EF glass, I couldn't control iris, so it would be nice if RED developed its own speed booster or worked with metabones or another 3rd party.. also need to have lock in place so no play..

and also is RED trying to do eye AF and tracking algorithm, or are they happy with what's in the camera now with some improvements?

I did a poll on FB and 2 biggest feature requests were gyroscope stabilization and AF tracking, face / eye AF type system like dual pixel or Sony eye AF.. I think the eye AF will take yrs to develop an algorithm.. but doing gyroscope stabilization is just activating to turn it on ( if Komodo has the sensors? I'm told it does but never from RED themselves) and developing a stabilization software, similar to catalyst browse, or working with NLES to add it to the RAW ability of the camera..

GYRO would be a BIG DEAL with the GLOBAL SHUTTER IMHO...

A roadmap with REDs plan and a timeframe for what they are working on and when they hope to have it released would be awesome.. I never seen anything like that so I doubt they do it though... Some1 said that Red basically has their users be beta testers, but so far my camera has been working perfectly fine. Im actually surprised how good the AF was so early on, ofc it needs improvements, but its better than a lot of CDAF systems.. Look forward to future improvements and really hope that GYRO comes early 2021 and we Need a SPEEDBOOSTER.. Just praying canons will work... Just my 2 cents... Happy holidays..

Christopher,

I really think it's a Komodo/ lens combo thing. The Zeiss lenses used in the last video are, if I remember from owning the 35mm and 50mm Contax lenses, fairly sharp. The Laowa lenses from the reviews I've seen and read are not as sharp. However, I would have thought that the Contax vintage lenses would have given the opposite results.

I think there's and ideal vintage lens/lenses Komodo combo out there and when we all recognize it, the ebay prices for that lens/lenses will go through the roof.

If you find before anyone else/ PM me..HaHaHaHaHa

Edit:

It could also be a Lens/Komodo/Image Quality setting(HQ-MQ-LQ)

Some chatter on FB and Jarred hinted at a firmware update before X-Mas in regards to RF lens support.

That would be a big one. Anamorphic is also in the works apparently, but don't know if that's next firmware or whatever.

For those new the RED world, typically there's firmware updates and fixes to refine and add features particularly early on. More's coming. I expect the incoming firmware to be a notable one if it's RF support + a few more additions.

Yeah, how many times now have we seen piles of "worthless" lenses become worth their weight in gold and then harder to find than an honest politician? Lol.

That would be pretty nice, since I've been eyeing an RF mount bird "hunting" lens... :)

Do you know if RF mount lenses work on Komodo currently using manual focus? Does their image stabilization work, or does that require a protocol update on the camera?
