  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Komodo (Production) has finally landed.

Just ordered! Komodo on its way!
 
The 3 pieces shot on Komodo and just released on YouTube Red channel are amazing.
BTS of the Frozen Few and Wide Open look amazing! Trinity has great skin tones.
That little crash cam is actually way more than that!
 
did anyone in Europe with a valid vat ID order so far?

if so, where you charged the VAT? did you order in Euro or Dollar?

VAT not charged but ended up paying in dollars. Hydrogen discount validated at checkout.

Jarred! Congrats. What are the chances of getting the SRT streaming protocol added to your firmware? Right now, for the same price, my only real choice is to get a JVC GY-HC550.

With remote production a thing now, this would really make me want to pull the trigger and go all in on the Komodo!
 
So does the 60 day countdown start today then for the Hydrogen discount offer? 12/13/20 would be last day? Trying to ensure I get some cash together in time ;)

My imei is not working, probably is the IMEI of free H1 got as present for the TI owners.

I will try with the TI imei.

I've not ordered just yet as i'm working it all out.

So it does seem possible to order via Red with a VAT number and get the hydrogen discount - on the fb group this was causing lots of issues. Is that order legally placed with Red UK? If so then i wonder whether i will be charged VAT anyway or whether i'm going to get duty+vat on import...

Then what are the payment methods, not been able to find that? I would ideally love a bank transfer/paypal option - i am pretty sure i have paid Red UK in the past like that from an invoice.

But at the same time i understood that CVP had taken on Red UK work?

Apologies if this is written down somewhere but i've not been able to find it anywhere!

I can order and pay in all my preferenced ways at Vocas, the Dutch supplier of RED. Only they don't know if they can process the IMEI Hydrogen discount so I have to wait for their anwser. They probably have to wait untill the RED office opens since it is day here and there night.
btw: I see the delivery time go from 10 days yesterday to 4 weeks in the meantime I sort things out :(

Discount only work if you buy direct from red as I understand.
 
with currency conversion its better to order from US site and pay shipping and still save money as 5990us is about 5100eur (350eur saving) and shipping cost from UK are almost the same as are the ones from US... and Tax and import: tax i get back as a company and import duites are less then a precent for cameras.

Except, as far as any other country, you will pay double tax. You won't get US tax back, you will probably pay the US tax and then the import tax and your country's tax on top of that. That last tax is deductible, but not the US or import tax.

arent US prices without TAX? Local TAX at import i get back as a company, custom fees are really small. i think its 0.11% here on camera gear. so at the end i would pay 5990usd +6,59usd - still 5100EUR compared to 5450eur on EU website.
