KOMODO ACCESSORIES (Grips, Cages, Handles...)

Hi all,

Tim from Bright Tangerine here.

our cage & accessories will be shipping very soon. Will have a few units out in the wild being tested shortly so they will be able to share their first impressions/experience.

Been waiting for a run-through of your stuff, holding off from buying other stuff until I know more. Is there a place to read into detail about this cage and accessories?

There’s finally a little bit of info on their rig on B&H, mostly packages and prices. Not much on descriptions, but looks like there will be a base kit, all the way up to an expert kit. Bright Tangerine has been saying “any day now” for the last month or so lol.
Cmon guys, lets see it.

BT is the best. Not any different for Komodo. Can't wait.

8Sinn accessories?

8Sinn accessories?

Hello. Is anybody try 8Sinn accessories for Red Komodo, like cage, handle etc.
It's looking cheap, but some people tells that they has a some problems? Any opinion about it, please!

I have the 8Sinn cage with the KipperTie foot extension. Fit, finish and tolerances seem equal to anything else on the market. With the kipperTie extension the lens mount seems rock solid, even with a 400mm lens.

Does the top rail make using the Red side hand possible?
I use the side handle all the time as theres really no other accessible record button on the camera for hand holding.

We have an alternate Run/Stop Top Rail which will have the pogo pins to pass through for run/stop triggering with the Outrigger handle.
In addition, it will provide a 3-pin fischer output.

Does the 3-Pin Fisher provide run/stop capability? If so, does it work with any conventional run/stop trigger or does the trigger (motor, hand grip e.g.) have to use the new protocol?

Still looking for a way to trigger from Tilta Wooden hand grip and Nucleus-M motor. I'll be using the Expander Module, so the EXT output is already occupied.

I've been digging into this as well, and from what I've been able to put together the Tilta Nucleus-M R/S Cable for the ALEXA Mini should work to connect the Nucleus-M motor to a Wooden Camera B-Box, as both appear to use the same pin layout on their 3-pin fisher. I haven't tested this yet, as I'm still waiting on my own Komodo, so any input from others on here would be greatly appreciated. But if this uses the same 3-pin configuration as the b-box, I'm assuming that cable would work with this plate as well, in theory.

TIMOTHYTAN is that right?

This is the WC b-box

let me ask our R&D guys to confirm.

I know that the 3-pin is run/stop only, since we don't get any power from pogo. It's purely for run/stop.

It will work with any 3-pin RS trigger as you would get from a lens control. Just note that this does not send through power as the camera does not send power so you will still need a power source for something like a motor etc.

Sounds great. So these cables will work?

Does it provide enough clearance for the KipperTie Revolva cartridge? And any information on a release date?

The first one won't since it's using the 7-pin 1B Lemo for the Alexa Mini, but the second one should be fine.

We have 100% compatibility with the Revolva using both our top rails as well as the mount adapter.

Products will be live for pre-order in the next day or so.

Awesome. Looks like this will solve my trigger situation.

Also having the run/stop port up front seems a lot more convenient than wiring towards the back.
