Starting with this handle not available yet but it seems to work via Bluetooth. Plus it's "only" $299 for a limited preorder period.

I mainly am looking for a handle with 4-6 buttons for shortcuts.

But I suspect a wheel for focus will be alarmingly useful in Komodo's case.

I want more cheese on the body for certain rigs. Hopefully Wooden Camera will make a pass through plate or something along those lines. I'm certain a full blown cage will be made too by somebody.

I'm really hoping someone makes a handle/grip with buttons we can map to our heart's content as well.

Focus wheel would be great too, an all in one package so we don't have to add something like a RTmotion thumbwheel and an extra cable. But it'd need to be well designed and reliable and "feel right" so hopefully something high end will come.

I expect a lot of top plates and cages will be made, wooden camera, zacuto, bright tangerine, Tilta, smallrig, etc.

Thank heavens the Aaton + fool control grip is still happening !! Mikael, très heureux de savoir que tu travailles toujours dessus ! I would love if there was a version coming with a thumbwheel for focus control. In an ideal world that thumbwheel would be implemented so that it'd control internal motors of photo lenses with AF of course, but would also somehow be compatible as a controller for RT Motion latitude stuff. So in that scenario you'd have a cine lens with motor and MDR and then the thumbwheel from the Foolcontrol-Aaton grip would control the latitude motor. Right ?!

Careful, this is the 720p version. Good version is only $100 more though, still not a bad price [for SmallHD], though it also appears to be a limited time price. I'd still rather Komodo have HDMI so one could spend $150, but oh well.

Lee, that's not entirely accurate. The version that Michael Bay and other pre-testers are using is the 720p version. Jarred himself confirms this (see the attached image). The more expensive OLED version is only 350nits which is unusable in daylight. The 720p version is 800 nits and perfectly suitable for daylight use; hence the reason it's currently the most popular choice for use with the Komodo. I agree that if you need HDMI, it's not ideal. However its extremely lightweight, and the difference between 720p and 1080p at 5" is negligible. Michael Bay shot the super bowl commercial with JLo and DJ Khalid using the 720p version. Obviously there's pro and cons - I'm willing to bet that SmallHD will come out with a newer version at NAB, which is why they are on sale? Just a guess

Afraid not, Komodo is way too short. 15mm rod height would place a rod clamp well down below the dovetails; a plate with an integrated rod clamp (which our DSMC plates do have by the way) would be far too thick. You'll definitely need some kind of riser arrangement to use this camera with rods. This combo is more for an ultra low profile or PDAF setup. However, the Arca Swiss compatible dovetails are removable [and an optional purchase], so our baseplate can bolted directly onto a riser system (or another type of quick release plate).
