I assume everyone and their dog knows about them, but the half-inch rails ziptie focus gears are definitely worth having a few of, especially if you use stills lenses.

They have a new 'fat' one for telescoping lenses than can be cut to size too.

Quick note - A preston motor ripped one right off my tokina 11-16 so use alongside items with less torque... Preferably hand-operated ff.

A few weeks ago I went looking for a flashlight to keep in my pocket and found this. It puts out 150 lumens for 8 minutes. It's pretty hard to justify not carrying a flashlight in your pocket with the existence of this thing. Up until the new year they were having a sale and the price with tax and shipping was under $50.

Great find. After I saw your post I picked one up and absolutely love it.

Also Check out their Spyder POD vehicle mounting system, I paid $550 (Few months ago) for refurbished one.
Now its one sale for $399 with purchase of $99

DIT flight case, All hooked up just drag a TB cable from raid to laptop. Does empty 128GB cards in less than 12minutes dual mag readers, esata to TB raid. It Render MX footage at rocket speed using the red rocket enclosure to the right, even when I run it on my small old macbook air. I have brought this case around the world on flights and just love it. It's small as a suite case, and no problem to just check in in on flights and it's fast as a rollingtower, and no hassle with cables. Just plug in power to the side of the case and you are rocking.

We have tested all kinds of solutions before, maxdigital rocket raid and so on but this one really beats them all. Especially if you consider price, but even just for performance and size. Of course dragon footage would need a speedy GPU card or rocket X and that I need to solve later. But for now I just dump Dragon footage onto the raid and hook up another disk instead of the rocket to make a duplicate for the client. Then I bring the footage home and set it to render.

I think the padded velcro thing is excellent things change so fast so no need to make custom cases for this kind of stuff. This one can be modifed to what ever is needed and is easy to toss on a plane or in the back of a car. and does not cost more than a pelli case, power strip and a screw on AC power plug.

also stuck 2 BNC connectors in there to get Video out from the rocket if needed, do not use it much but still nice to have.

The cool thing is nothing leaves the case, all is hooked up, rental clients has a lot of love for that little detail :)

I am surprised nobody has yet mentioned this...:

and while talking about power - I don't leave home without a compact in-wall multi-plug - regardless if for shooting or otherwise, there seems to be never enough power outlets to plug my gear...
