  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Here it is...

The new RC looks very nice. I'm sure you guys will put a lot of cool stuff in it, that is missing now. So to all naysayers around here, keep your patience. The RED Team knows what they are doing this time around. EDL what ever.
I think they know what an EDL is good for. Give em some time I'm sure they will work something out.

Cool Movie Jarred. Keep that stuff coming.

Looks totally awesome - I can't wait to give this thing a try.

It's not going to have all those animations in the UI though, is it? Because they look great, but I imagine that they'd get very tedious after a while unless they were 3 to 5 times as quick...

Hey Sanjin,

Jim has already announced this - but it is a totally new, all RED app.

Thanks Luki,

it´s good to know and repeat it again many times!!!!!!!!!!

Great fire chief.

Looks great and it looks something similar to Lightroom substitution of Red.

In Detail section I saw Denoise? and in Output there is an option to output RAW. Could you explain it? Is RAW export means as a R3D with metadata embeded with cc done in RedCine-X.

Thanks for the great tool and one simple question. When edl/xml conform or some kind of offline/online conform is not there then is it going to be just one light color correction something like Telecine for Red based shoots.

What will be the main difference between RedAlert and Recine-X chief?

RED outdid themselves again.

You guys never cease to amaze me. Keep up the good work!

OpenFX is absolutely our first choice for the plugin architecture... working through a few 4k(+) kinks but it's the current plan.

Excellent news. I'm 100% behind that choice.

.. and to be clear, just because WE aren't doing conform/edl support... it doesn't mean we are not making it easy enough for someone else to add it... :001_wub:

Hopefully that means that the format R-X saves in (or at least can import/export a project as with ALL settings) will be XML, letting Crimson, Clipfinder and others exchange time-lines easily with it.

You are correct sir.... Adding EDL/Conform support to REDCINE-X will be a somewhat easy task for the 3rd party guys... that's the way we are designing it.

That way everyone wins :)

Perfect .

Just a thought. Will there be non-image plugins? Like the ability for Crimson to write a REDCine 'plugin' which just adds its EDL goodness right in the file->import menu?

???? I realise this is a stupid question, but there is still going to be a Mac version right?

Linux support would be nice too - and even if not, a Linux version of Redline would be great so I can delegate a lot of my R3D decoding from my main editing machine to all the Linux boxes I have hanging around once I get my Scarlet.

Other than that, this app looks incredible
