Hi guys. . .

I'm curious if any of you have received any really recent word from the Actioncam folks. I got an email several weeks ago, but I was expecting shipping would have taken place by now.

Normally, I wouldn't be too concerned, but we need to get this unit in the next couple of weeks for a shoot beginning in May. We'll need to get a lot of practice between then and now!

I wrote Actioncam about a week ago, but have not heard anything back.

If you have or haven't heard anything, please let me know either way.

Thanks much.

Stephen

I just emailed them yesterday and got a fast response. The group buyers are being shipped in 2 groups. The first went out this past week. The second will go out the first week of April. This is my understanding. I was in the first group but delayed my shipment so some lucky soul can get theirs early. I'm excited to get it but am in no rush.

Hope this helps. Not sure why youre not getting an email. They always seem to be very responsive. I would love to hear from those who gets theirs first. Love to get some pics.

Brian's brother called me about two weeks ago. He told me shipping starts mid march for the first batch and there are quite a few improvements to the original rig. I'm in the first batch, but I emailed Brian last week that I will pick up the ActionCam till mid April (he hasn't responded till now). Brian and his brother are really nice, reliable guys. I will post pics and footage when we get our ActionCam.

I just came back from Basel to pick my rig up, and I can say it is a great product . Extremely well built, the finishing is superb and care and service by Brian and Daryl is excellent. I only forgot how heavy it can be ( I did my Steadicam course nearly 20 years ago.....) So now it is a matter of training, training and training again. I also saw some thing that are in the works including their new LCD monitor and some more stuff that they will develop in the near future. Highly recommended !

Cheers

I picked up my rig in person also, and had a pretty nice weekend in Basel. There's some pretty good restaurants in the old district.:shifty: Brian and Daryl kindly gave up some of their weekend to go through all the gear and gave some great tips and tricks for quick set up and operation.

I'm in the same boat as Mick, also having done my training a few years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised at how light the rig and camera are together! Last time I tried a rig on it was with a Moviecam Compact! All in all steadicam has come on a long way in the last 5 years and this rig is a great example of a well built and nicely finished product.

The back mounted vest makes a big difference to the length of time holding the rig remains comfortable. The balance of the rig seems very good even though I am back to being a beginner again. I would recommend someone start making longer cables immediately as I am having trouble sourcing these and do not like the cable hanging down from the camera for the lcd. I think some form of dual battery pack is necessary for counter balance if, like me, you are planning to run remote focus, radio sender and a downconverter on the rig itself. I have yet to pin down this config and may well end up with the downconverter and sender at the base of the rig!

The cases are good also with foam cut-outs and room for expansion with pre cut spaces for extra gear.

Well done Brian and Daryl!

I just got an email from Daryl. . .

He said my unit will be leaving Basil this week on Thursday. Whew. . .

We keep cutting all of this really close.

Thanks for your information!

Just dont push the guys to much. They are working overtime like the RED team right now.
Every time I visit them they are in their office working like hell. Even Brian's young son is helping them out.
The office rooms are fully packed with the new made rigs.
The new rigs are totaly badass. Swiss quality at it's best.
So have a little patiance, they will deliver, dont worry.

Cheers

Mr. ActionCam is in DA HOUSE!

Mr. ActionCam is in DA HOUSE!

The ActionCam Group Buy and the Goff boys delivered. Just got the rig this morning. Still missing... the non-RED camera package, due by the end of the month. Oh... and, of course, RED #1877 (AKA "Gladys"). Looking forward to the moment it all comes together.

Tons of appreciation go to Tonaci, Brian and Daryl. Many thanks.

WOOHOO!! glad to see the units shipping out.. sorry Stephen for not answering you earlier.. it has been so nutty insane for me as I had to prepare for two features in Vietnam (instead of the original one before leaving).

check this out for timing, I left for Vietnam on Saturday and my Actioncam came in at 5:30PM on friday.. it is so slick. I will be doing a review of it and take pictures at Chanh Phuong studios today. I LOVE the new Element Technica dovetail compatibility. more to come.

Sweet pics - Thanks - looking forward to more.

I'm bummed. . . how'd you get your Actioncam before me? I've got a RED with no way to fly. . . and you've got a. . .well. . . who knows what you've got. But it sure does look great. Wish I already had mine!

I had a run through of this baby today at NAB - Very impressed with the build quality. Lots to learn with this kind of shooting. Daryl was VERY helpful and spent a lot of time going over the rig with me. Very adjustable. Comfortable vest, and I am not a small guy. Very nice indeed.

Current price and wait time?

Current price and wait time?

Anyone know the current price and approximate delivery date if ordering at NAB this week?
