  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone recieved the microMatteBox for Red One?

will my pancro 4 x 5.65 filters fit in my mattebox

I can answer that...yes they will. 4x.5.65 isn't a random name for a filter, it's the actual size and that's the main size RR built into their filters. You can also put 4x4 filters in, but the little plastic "mattes" are a pain in the butt.

Hi paintthetownred

Macville is correct.

Regarding your specific order status, we can take that offline as you also wrote me an email directly.

Thanks

Brian

Hey Brian, when will a 5.65 square filter tray be available? My new filter set includes a 5.65 square pola. Not listed on the order form at the moment.

Loving the matte box by the way! Brilliant design.

Cheers,

Jim

list of beefs, keep growing... odered my 2nd matte box. sept 3 , with a stepdown ring $15 value. the said my rr matte will ship oct 4th, well didn,t happen .i did ask for the ring to ship asap. they did but it came across the canadian border with the invoice for both amounts $815. so paid $125 taxs on a $15. part. for 2 weeks all email have not been answered. when the unit does ship the need to ship it with no value, so i don,t pay taxs and brokerage twice. i did pay over $125 for quick shipping but will be sending it back if they don,t do it right. then i will want my $125 quick shipping back . ....no since then i have bought a new spinning glass for my redrock m2 ,only weighs a few ounces $17 shipping. the plastic lens ring gears weighs an ounce ,another $17 shipping. i was going to order 4 . all $17 each .i am sure they go in one box they would have charged me $100 . for a 6 ounce box. that is a rip. i want them to be dropped in with the matte box if possible. but i am sure because i can,t get a hold of anyone . so brian you stuff is great but....... lets get it togeather in the shipping department. with all the extra money your making from your shipping charges ,hire some one to answer the phone. help me.

well its 2 days later and /no phone call back/ no email back/ and after 2 days on this thread not even a comment from brian/ we get better and more frequent communication with osama binladen that red rocks shipping department.

Sorry guys - man, I hate Reduser's notification. If you miss one you never know there are more posts.

jim - we are working on a 5.65" square tray, no eta yet.

jetaddiction - please send me a PM and we'll get it resolved. I think this is steve? If so, I responded to you several days ago in an email and have not received a response back from you.

Thanks

Brian

Hey Brian. Thanks for that.

Any third party alternatives that will fit the RR? I'd much rather have yours but it sounds like it's months away if it's still in the development stage.

Cheers,

Jim

Arri MB20 filter trays fit this mattebox.

$200+ for a 5.65x5.65 Arri filter tray?? Redrock, you guys need to get on this, asap! :-)

yep - we hear you on this! We are now only announcing products when they are available to ship. It may be a bit longer for the announcement, but shorter (much shorter) to receive them once it's announced

I got mine 2 weeks ago. A very nice product for the price, works fine. Will buy a second one. I had to wait several month but it was worth. Only thing I am not realy happy about is when using a pole filter and want to rotate the stage it is a little hard.

If I order one now, when will it ship?

I saw it was stated that backorders will be caught up in two weeks. Does this mean current orders or the reservation holders?

Thanks

Hi folks

jrfilm - if the stage sticks a bit you can use some silicon lubricant and it will work wonders. Just a little, and remove your filters if you do it.

Code Rad (love that name :) ) Currently lead time is around 3-4 weeks. A lot better but not quite there on our standard lead time of 5 business days or less. Working on it. We do have everything in stock now (cases, extra stages, filters, etc.) so it's just a matter of shipping all existing orders. First in first out priority

Thanks

Brian

I just ordered the 3rd stage, looking forward to receiving it. I'm very pleased with the Matte Box and think that it's a great value.

cool beans. thanks everyone. Lee glad to hear you like the mattebox. Maybe absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder (not that we want to test that any more :) )

Hi folks,

We are looking for local (Los Angeles area) Red users to try out our new 15mm studio offset arm for the microMatteBox. If you're interested please drop me a line brian at redrockmicro dot com and let us know why you are the ideal candidate. We should have these available in not too long for you 15mm studio offset folks.

Thanks

Brian

my third stage is proving difficult to install. Finners video on installation is with
a RRMB that has Hex screws according to him, Mine has really tiny phillips screws that are really tight. I stripped the first one not knowing how tightly they were set. I had to use a jewelers screwdriver and wrench to get the rest out.
