  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

Kwan, he said he was "trying to match" the amazing price of the Ronin and "it's going to be about" 2000 Euro. The price has gone up since then. The Runner is 5k. This is almost half of that.

Interested in this vs the Runner from Action. Didn't the group buy of the Runner drive prices down to sub $3K? Either way, lots of competition heating up.

I am hoping that we get some real user reviews for both this and the runner before the group buys end. For me a lot of which, if either, I go with will also come down to how small of a footprint to do the intended job, ease of egress, fluidity within tight corners, how much it weighs and how small it packs down. I travel a lot and need small and light and am willing to pay for it. Both of these units fall within the price range we are addicted to paying for top notch gear. Also it comes down to which is better on the Ronin or similar gimbal. I own a Helix, it is so superior ergonomically that whatever you can do on the Ronin, using the Helix will only expand that range.

I am really glad that Action Product and L'Aigle are doing the exoskeleton arms. I did come up with a solution around 4 months ago (out of the need for some long-term support for the Helix and the upcoming Double Helix) but never had the time to follow on with it. It', however, is nothing like the systems from Action Product and L'Aigle, it's totally different. I shared some info with some Red Users, But since now there are existing products, I have more reason to lag :-)

@hiene, upcoming Double Helix?

I still have a lot of questions regarding the use of your hands. It seems like even in the video he struggles trying to get a hold of the unit. I'm trying to imagine how you would change the settings on your camera easily. Does it make any sense to have something that connects to The gimbal itself? Not necessarily clamping on but perhaps a support. Anxious to hear a review.

Yeah, I'm thinking you would free up one hand, adjust the settings, then clamp in and go.

I think connecting to the gimbal itself defeats the purpose of these new exoskeleton rigs. Connecting to the gimbal is a different approach. I like this approach better. Testing is going to be necessary to know for sure.

We're doing well, almost to the first tier discount. Let's keep it going! Get your name on the list, there's absolutely nothing to lose by getting in line. You can always opt out if you're unhappy with the results of the review or if the final numbers don't give us a deep enough discount. Deposits are even refundable!

I'm in.

Alright, we've passed the first tier! Now let's go for the next tier. I'm determined to reach 100.

By the way, I will be finding out how long it will take L'Aigle to ship all the units. I'll be updating page 1 as soon as I find out. I'm hoping the lead time on the 1st unit will be within weeks of the 100th unit. We we see soon!

I'm in too! This looks cool! The added bonus is I'll feel like Matt Damon in Elysium!
