  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

I see that the MSRP = 2890€. I guess there is no real way to know what the street price may settle out as.

Guys, keep this in mind: The L'Aigle Exoskeleton will not magically make you a great shooter. It will simply take the brunt of the weight off of your arms so that you can shoot longer sequence shots, walk and talks etc. without getting tired. You have full range of motion as if you were just holding the gimbal without any support. This is the only other product on the market that allows you full range of motion with no limitations, other than the AP Runner. And this is priced well below the Runner. Especially if we hit over 100 sales. The Easyrig, McRig, Raptor Adaptor, Serene arm etc. are all nice products, but the are limiting in range of motion. This is #1 - the perfect companion to any gimbal on the market, #2 - The best priced product of it's kind and #3 - will be the quickest to ship. I think it's a no brainer.

My bad. I had converted 2000 euros to usd and found that it is 2500 usd and mistakenly mentioned it as euro here.

Anyway, manufacturers raise price when they feel that there is more interest for their product. In this case they hiked it by 45% from the IBC price.

Looks like these group buys are helping the manufacturers gauge interest in the product and help them in taking a decision to raise the price. So these group buys may have become counter productive for the customer.

No, the group buys are not raising the price. Pierre said in the video that 2000 euros was the TARGET price. They were still in the prototype phase. Everybody wants something for nothing. This is priced very nicely as THE PREMIER exoskeleton in the industry. L'Aigle has already been making exoskeletons for other industries, and they perform exactly how they're suppose to perform. They are offering an awesome product at a price well below their nearest competitor. And they have a lot more experience in this arena. If they price them too low, people will say they are cheap garbage, if they price them too high, they will sell less. I think they are very fairly priced for what you are getting.

+ 1 for me

I was about to pounce on Serene+EasyRig but i'm not that into the idea of being limited up top, Easy rig by itself for long days of doco work sure thing, perfecto but something not right

anyways going to try one out this weekend with the serene and my M15 see how it goes.

I'm totally confident in exoskeleton systems.

I don't intend to bash on other manufacturers, but easyrig alone is not pratical (I have one). With a Serene it sure is complete, but it still depends on the easyrig to function (and the grand total is pricier), whereas the exoskeletons can be used for handeld as well.
And I mean, I'm currently moving out, and I would love to have it to pull up my many boxes.

To be brief, one is a system, the other is a plugin. I prefer the system.

lol great you are gonna be saving a lot of money NOT hiring many people to move your stuff. Great idea.

kind regards

Logic would suggest that a very vocal and enthusiastic interest in a product would give a company more confidence in the demand and, thus, in their pricing policy. I guess that's the downside of being supportive here on RU.

I do wonder what the distribution plans are since the MSRP may not end up being the actual market price and our group buy pricing may not be as deep of s discount as we thought.

I certainly agree that this is a very exciting product. The 14 day return policy is a comfort, as is the fact that the company has been around for awhile. My personal dilemma is deciding whether this is better ($2500 better) than an arm/vest configuration for my Helix.

In the end, value is more important than price but affordability is essential.

The Exoskeleton sounds and looks great, however, I really want to see footage shot while using this system. Besides reducing fatigue, does the system help with vertical stabilization or will it aggravate 'bounciness'. The sample footage from the Runner wasn't exactly smooth. I'm sure that there will be a learning curve toget the best out of a system like this. From a price perspective, it's a whole lot more tempting than the Runner.

But the deadline for the group buy is 10/15. No?

Yes. I plan to post my review by then. Deposits are not due until 72 hours after the group buy ands.

By the way, the footage will look amazing, guaranteed. How do I know? Because the L'Aigle Exoskeleton will not be shooting it, I will. The footage will look great because I'm shooting it. The exoskeleton is merely taking the load off of my arms. I'll be testing it in conjunction with a Red Epic, and both the MōVI M15 and the BS4.

Hold the phone, did you just say BS4? Really hope you get it in time for this test. The price of this group buy has me on the fence so your review will determine my decision. Thanks again Carey for all your work on this and the BS4 group buy. Like Phil, I consider you to be a true gentleman and scholar.

Maybe Ketch could review it as part of the Ronin review.

Thanks Scott,

While I absolutely trust Carey to do a wonderful job here and most definitely carry out a great review of the L'Aigle's Exoskeleton, since I just finally received full Sponsorship from DJI and a brand new Ronin, I will also with great pleasure include the L'Aigle Exoskeleton to the detailed Video review of the Ronin and or also possibly do a separate one, as I am already in talks with Pierre, after seen their gear at IBC, and could get a unit this month to take for a run, and having me do so and of course with the only purpose to give Carey and this community support with an additional test/review of this new piece of equipment.

Other then that at this time, all that I can add, having seen in person all current available pieces of similar gear, aside the Runner is that I in fact strongly believe that the only two "GOOD" options in this genre are indeed the L'Aigle's Exoskeleton & the Runner.

Good thing is that I am still in Milan Italy to shoot some Fashion Films, so shipping of th unit form Paris to Milan would only take a Day... And no Customs to deal with either... ;)

EDIT:

Since I got a PM by an other fellow Reduser about this... I want to clarify that I am not comparing the EXOSKELETON design with any other type of Support system providing the 4th AXIS to a GIMBAL, but strictly saying that of the systems I personally touched, seen tried and or Seen and or read about it, the two listed above are the only two real options for both price and specs on both paper and on how they operate.

I would never compare them say to a Serene on an Easyrig form were the Gimbal such as the Ronin will dangle, or to a Steady-cam to were it would need to be mounted Up-Side-Down, this offer two yet completely different type of support even from Each Other.

I am interested as well. I would like to hear Micheal Kromshroeder's thoughts on the systems since he has already ordered one. Real world test.

No, the group buys are not raising the price. Pierre said in the video that 2000 euros was the TARGET price. They were still in the prototype phase. Everybody wants something for nothing. I certainly agreed at following,

1- L'Aigle has already been making exoskeletons for other industries, and they perform exactly how they're suppose to perform.
2- They have a lot more experience in this arena.

However, I strongly disagreed here :beatdeadhorse5:,
1- No, the group buys are not raising the price :confused1:
2- Pierre said in the video that 2000 euros was the TARGET price
3- This is priced very nicely as THE PREMIER exoskeleton in the industry :violin:
4- If they price them too low, people will say they are cheap garbage, if they price them too high, they will sell less :furious3:

With all due respect, I think there are some facts you have not considered. Pierre have never use the word targeted price.
He said, "Right Now its universal the size of the vest and its gona stay the same way".
Further more, he uses a word “Its gona be about 2000 euros"

About = "almost or nearly" verse Target = a goal to be achieved
2000 euro to 2890 euro ... beautiful unbalanced maths (lol)

MSRP = 2890 euro and VAT Excl? :mad2: UM..UMM Sounds more like Target Market vs. Target Customer (lol)

I will only hold my spot until some reviews/feedbacks, however I still disliked GB offer :smash:
