Phil, what do you use for the optical flat in terms of screw-in? Did you use screw-in or larger for the Forged 8k shoot to protect the lenses? That is all I am thinking about. I did send mail to Formatt, but have not heard back, about making a 95mm optical flat / UV filter.
I also updated my list of filters in my first post. I assume that you will go through all of them again before you send the final info off to Formatt.
I know you want those Soft Edge Grads in Screw In, but you actually want them in a rectangular format so you can actually position the grad
I'll try to stay on top of things as much as humanly possible between shooting, bidding, and pitching which is what's going on in my bizarre life this month. Been shooting booze, tacos, and cars lately, which doesn't keep me so attentive though
Everything I used on Forged was 4x5.65" in BT's Misfit Atom, which clamps onto anything that you have the appropriate ring for. On that shoot I had the 80mm ring in most of the time for the crazy variety of glass I was using.
I use screw-ins when I absolutely need the lightest weight and tiniest option. I personally prefer 4x5.65" because they are easier to swap, clean, and deal with during any shooting day. 92% of my shooting is on 4x5.65" is basically what I'm saying. You'll have less chance at vignetting on ultra wides with the 4x5.65" btw than the screw-ins on 8K. Just putting that out there too
