  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I've put a call into Formatt regarding some of their online prices versus stock MSRP. They are going to get me a revised list this evening or tomorrow it sounds like.

The bottom line and quote I'll share is:: "The Group Buy is intended to be the best price for loyal REDuser customers. We will do anything to to make sure the lowest price offer will be found through this GB."

What to read out of that is we'll hammer down the final pre-discount price and it will likely be less expensive than what the original MSRP list that was provided to me is.
 
Nice! I was looking to pick up some of these. I guess shipping to Canada is $80 usd?
 
Phil, just wanted to say thank you for all of your efforts on this GB!

Phil, since Format does not currently make a 95mm optical clear, or UV filter, can you recommend another brand? I did send mail to Formatt to see if they could make one.

Just recieve my 2.1 Firecrest and it's an amazing product, so the GB is really good point for buy anothers ones :o)

Phil, after reading this - California Sales Tax, Import and VAT from US if you're an international buyer, there is a possibilites to buy from their whareouse in UK for the European users ? Just to know if it's possible.

Hi Alexandre,

I've updated the shipping information in the first post. Here's how shipping is working:

- If you are ordering from/shipping to CA, you get CA sales tax.
- If you are domestic in the US your order ships from CA.
- If you are an international buyer, UK, or EU it all ships from UK.

Updated shipping price reflects this change. Just got off the phone with Formatt this morning. Updated price list is incoming. There was some confusion it sounds like when it came to the GBP/USD conversion. Long at the short, this group buy will beat any retailers price with the discount after all is said and done. Just waiting on the absolute final numbers.

I'm positive the prices for the 95mm screw ins you listed are for the 105mm ones. ;)

95mm should be around $175.

I could be interested in the 105mm, could you check the prices of this 2 bigger screw ins and add the 105mm to the list?

So for EU buyers you will give us a coupon code and we will order from the Formatt website, right?

Spoke with Formatt today. Still awaiting "correct prices", but should have those at some point this evening I imagine. There's been some sort of chaos involving GBP to USD conversions that is getting sussed out.

I don't believe it will be a coupon code. There will likely be an email address setup specifically for this group buy and Formatt will handle the individual orders. I could be wrong, but that will be worked out closer to the end date. It would be nice if it is a coupon code however as you guys can handle the orders through the store :)

What I am doing is updating Formatt on what's ordered by the group buy participants so they can get ready to deliver quickly once all is said and done.

As for the 105mm and 127mm filters, yes they can be a part of this group buy. However, those are particular larger sizes might take a couple weeks extra to build as they aren't common and aren't currently in stock. Same as the 95mm filters, but those are already in progress it seems. The original intent was to focus mainly on just the Firecrest NDs in the sizes they had in stock ready to ship, but you guys asked for things like polarizers, low contrast, and all that. I'm happy they have allowed it all to be apart of this group buy.

Phil, what do you use for the optical flat in terms of screw-in? Did you use screw-in or larger for the Forged 8k shoot to protect the lenses? That is all I am thinking about. I did send mail to Formatt, but have not heard back, about making a 95mm optical flat / UV filter.

I also updated my list of filters in my first post. I assume that you will go through all of them again before you send the final info off to Formatt.
