  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

id be in for some tubes and a china ball or two

Lightweight but very rigid - like the Lantern Locks but without the excessive weight.

Exactly how I see it. I have a lantern lock and I use a super clamp to hook it to a boom pole. It ends up being too much weight when it's on the end of a boom. You can use it, but it's not ideal.

The china ball setup will take some time since it's a whole new product. I am working on it and with our numbers we should be able to get something that fits our needs well.

I'm talking to a couple companies about building one custom made to our spec. Basically it would be a frame that provides a solid attachment to a boom pole and we can stick on the LEDs ourselves. We would also need to provide our own power and boom pole, which is ideal in my opinion. Maximum flexibility.

Excellent!

I'd like to know more details about the tubes and maybe the china ball.

We ordered 370lbs / 168kgs of light strips. Pretty impressive numbers...

Fantastic news! I hope it can happen before march. We have a feature coming up and would love to test all this stuff out by then.

Just got these from the manufacturer:

The bags your spools come in will have these stickers on them.

They are just labels, but still pretty cool to see...

About the China Ball... What size do you think you will want to use? Should we have threaded connector on the top? ...or a 5/8 spud? ...or?

Time to throw out your ideas. I need to get a sketch done to get CAD drawings made from.
