  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Basically, you stick a strip of LED inside the enclosure (there's 3M tape on the back), slide the diffusion cover on, throw on the end caps and now you, basically, have a kino flo tube that doesn't need a ballast and can run off a cigarette lighter/battery. On this same note, I'm also interested in constructing a battery-powered china ball with these lights for walk-and-talk shots. It would be great if someone can share links for the best recommend materials and parts. For example, what can we use for the cone inside to wrap the lights around. Also, for the boom, are people using a sound boom like a K-Tec?
 
I'm in for tubes too! Would have been great if they came together but this arrangement is fine.
