  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Interested in tubes, depending on price and details.

Our strip light order is now totally locked down. Our lights are rolling down the production line. Any additions at this point will need to be done in another batch. If you want more or you missed the first round of this group buy entirely and want in on this deal PM me (include your email and how much you want). If any are left over they're yours on a first come first serve basis.

If you're interested in grabbing some of these tubes (read the last couple pages, you'll want some) PM me or reply in the thread. I'm making a list.

Very excited to see all this coming together. And there's more to come...

Hi Brandon.
Why not wait for everyone to receive their units, before arranging a new group?
So we could make better weighted decisions

Understandable, but I really would like the tubes to come with the LEDs so I can design and rig to my needs asap. Big project coming and really want these on hand for it.

I'm thinking a good start might be 4x6", 4x1', and 2x3.3'. Ideally, for my needs, 2' on the longer end would be perfect, so may cut them down.

I totally agree and that was my plan since I started talking about these tubes privately with Corey. Once the conversation became public and people started asking how to get them, and after talking to lots of other people privately about their specific plans with the LED strips, I decided to see what I could find now. I also want everyone to be able to hit the ground running once they get their strips and these tubes are a great way to do that. Any future group buy for lights will have the tubes available as an accessory from the start.

Exactly why we are talking about this now.

I guess this should be pretty cheap, so I'd rather be able to order some and receive them with my Led strips... Let's see what will be offered.

Yeah, they are cheap. ~$10 each for the 1m/3.3ft tubes.

These tubes won't delay your strip light orders either.

Tubes for me please !

I need to figure out which lengths and how many, but I'm also interested in the tubes.

This is all preliminary to see if there is enough interest to meet the minimum quantity. It looks like there definitely is. I'll have all the details soon.

I'm also interested in the tubes!

On this same note, I'm also interested in constructing a battery-powered china ball with these lights for walk-and-talk shots. It would be great if someone can share links for the best recommend materials and parts. For example, what can we use for the cone inside to wrap the lights around. Also, for the boom, are people using a sound boom like a K-Tec?

I would love to see a GB put together for a battery powered china ball kit too. All of the components except the battery and the boom pole maybe?

I'm talking to a couple companies about building one custom made to our spec. Basically it would be a frame that provides a solid attachment to a boom pole and we can stick on the LEDs ourselves. We would also need to provide our own power and boom pole, which is ideal in my opinion. Maximum flexibility.

Lightweight but very rigid - like the Lantern Locks but without the excessive weight.
