  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Nice... Please put me down for 2x Daylight and 2x Tungsten.

Thanks.

Depending on the final details, I may change my order to a mix of variable and daylight so please keep us posted. Thanks.

+2 daylight. I would like to know more about powering options though.

The lights are all 12 volt. I use V-mount batteries that have a d-tap connection. You can also use an AC power supply.

No problem. Once we hit our goal I'll start contacting everyone via PM to finalize the type/color temp they want.

I'm working on a post now about accessories.

I have made a couple with daylight and tungsten. I used a 12v dewalt flashlight and mounted a pvc pipe in it, the batteries are cheap and run for around 2 hours. It has been referred to as the Striet light. Cost for materials is about 100 bucks with batteries and charger. I used Dewalt because you can go into any home depot and pick up batteries if you need extras in a hurry. Amazon if you have time.

Count me in for 1x variable spool. I'm also interested what controller and dimmer options you turn up.

Thanks for putting this on!

Very cool! I'm going to have to try this.

Do you happen to have any charts that show each of the the CRI values, or as also shown on this site TLCI and CQS values, like the ones in these links? I was looking into these Yuji lights as someone else mentioned as well. However they're listed as being 97 and 98 CRI, not 90 as you were saying. But if there's something as good for less money, then I'm interested.

Please put me down for two (2) daylight-balanced strips.

Thank you for arranging this group buy and product.

Interested once the controller/power options are explored more and there are some tests/examples! These look like they can provide a lot of possibilities.

They are CRI 90 and it says so on their site. They do claim "up to" CRI 97/98 in the ad copy, but that's like when an Internet company claims your download speed is "up to" a certain speed. It's not that way in reality.

There are 2 other problems with those lights:

1) They have half the lumen output.

2) They are 24 volt instead of 12 volt.

This is from the order page and technical specs on their site:

Here are some reviews from their customers:
