Those are not nearly as good. They are CRI 90 and about half as bright. Also, their variable strip is 24v which is a big headache to deal with if you're running off batteries. I tested strips like these. Maybe the exact same ones even.

They have some that are CRI of 95, but perhaps only in the 60 chip/meter version. I have only played with the 95+ CRI chips of theirs.

Each separate fixed color temp strip needs only a power source. A dimmer is optional. Variable strips always need a controller so you can set the color temp. There are professional dimmers and controllers made for film/video work that will work great with these. I'm testing budget options to find one that's more affordable. I think I'll be able to get them for ~$50.

CRI95, no color spike. Really beautiful light.

Yes - about 5 units. Daylight, I guess; I tend to light daylight all the time. I guess the downside of the variable is the controller cost?

BBS just came out with a similar boom light called the flyer that I was considering until I saw the CRI count. At $3,500, this light strip looks like a really nice option. Is the variable option rated at 95 CRI across all color temperatures?
