Nick, is there any indication of timing? We are close to a year now on this GB thread.

Looking forward to a massive discount considering the USD is 20% higher vs EUR than when the thread started.

Last Shipping estimate date was beginning to mid June for Revolvr. I have not heard of any variance. Looking forward to seeing production units at Cinegear...

Thank you very much

Me too! Soybean futures takin' a dive is hurting my chances of owning top photo-graffy gear. We farmers are hit hardest.

Admirable ideation...

We all certainly share your anticipatory sentiments and observations.

I don't have any official word on discounts, but one that you allude to is the discount of passage of time. Keeping in mind that this is an Interest Thread, we have gained incredibly complex, engineering achievements and refinements, BEFORE release AND before any capital outlay, by any proposed GB participants.

Thank you very much

Seriously, I really hope this GB concludes before B&H begins shipping them. They're already available for pre-order on their site. Would it be presumptuous to assume that purchasing through a GB is faster than simply placing a pre-order thru B&H?

What is the status on availability and price?

There will be a Pre Production Revolvr at Cinegear, with the latest enhancements.

Thank you very much

Updates to follow.

Thanks to ALL, who have participated and been so patient. The ardent striving of such high standards, as BT has been accustomed to, has been the genesis and the major causation of the waiting period.

Thank you very much

Nice, but the pricing on the Revolvr Atom Cine kit on the website is still €1229 while the price in the list here is $1649 so is this thread doing a group buy discount or not?
The difference in price is around $273 more expensive in this thread than the price on the website?

Confused

Hi Christopher,

The discount % has not been announced...yet. As soon as I know that information and any other official release information, I shall post it here.

The EU price point, has not been updated, by BT as well, but that is also gping to occur.

Thank you very much

My contact at BT has said 6-8 weeks from today, bear in mind he said that two weeks ago as well.
I'm out of this product, I'm losing work and money while they mess around with deadlines.

Here's the skinny to date:

A supplier of a tricky part is still working on getting it right and consistent. If he gets there quickly, yes, 6-8 weeks. If he doesn't... need another try. It's a pain, but there will be no technical compromise accepted.

As for missed box rental, if you absolutely NEED to own a follow-focus right now, then best to just go for one of those other fine products available. The worst that can happen is that you end up with regrets once you see the Revolvrs, right?

Hi JIm,
I am very concerned about gear ratios. As some of my lenses have 300mm rotations, as it stands right now for instance I need a 64 tooth/0.8 gear to work with your LFF-1. As I need small and light, what provision do you have for the Atom version to deal with this kind of situation? Otherwise, I fear having to go beyond one rotation of a handwheel for my marks. Will you have gears to deal with this? Arri compatible otherwise?....

Hi CB

you mean 300° not 300mm right?

The actual determining factor is the number of teeth you want to drive, not the rotational angle. From the data you give, your situation would appear to be that the gear barrel has a diameter of ~= Ø114mm:

total teeth on gear are then ~= 140
140*300/360 ~= 117 teeth lock to lock
117/1.8 ~= need 65 teeth on driver with basic "cine" ratio driving

If the gear barrel were larger (smaller), it would have more (less) teeth and the 300° sector would thus then require more (less) speed.

In any case, the best way to start would be if you were to count up the exact number of teeth you want to drive in one handwheel rotation and shoot that info over to BT.

Cheers
Jim
