Gauging interest in BRIGHT TANGERINE FOLLOW FOCUS

Correct. Getting these things made is admittedly taking longer than initially hoped for, but the company can finance their own developments, they're not gonna take your dough for something that isn't finished.

AFAIL. BT is still, as Jim states self financing all the extensive R&D. Certainly, as I have noted multiple times, over the course of this thread's postings, No $, from any Interested parties , in this thread has been even REQUESTED. I, am remaining optimistic-hugely so.

Just look at TESLA, who a few days ago had to take out a rather restrictive LOC, for $500 million. A lotta end users/stockholders have skin in that game, whilst BT, to their "credit" has had ZERO requests, from any potential enduser, for cash. Andy and Jim, et al., are all going waaaay overboard, with the QC and future purchasers of the FF, when purchases are actually possible, will benefit, from their efforts. Modifications and improvements have BEEN made, before release, instead of after, which I, for one, endorse.

Thank you very much

Fury

While I have been reticent on other projects, I am certain that these units will be incredible value for the money.
I don't need another follow focus, but I will be buying one just the same.

If I'm not mistaken, BT is taking $ on bhphotovideo. No discount of course, but the site says you'll have yours in 7-14 days. It was updated today or over the weekend.

This doesn't seem to jive with the mid-July dates for shipping mentioned by a few people several posts back.

It is not correct... Rob confirmed that B&H has the wrong info and that you will not be able to get a FF in 7-14 days... B&H takes the money for preorder, not BT. In person at NAB and Cinegear it has been said clearly that units will not be ready for 1-2 months...

I have spoken to Andy at length, and I was told "A minimum of 10 weeks..." That was last week... so there's NO WAY ANYONE IS SHIPPING in a week or two! They're not even IN production yet!

So what's the current status on this?

Any idea if this will be out before manual focus pulling is obsoleted by automatic focusing systems? I'm thinking eye tracking a directors focal point from a monitor.

I'm patient, but I think we should get some news update on estimated shipping now. Feels like ages since the hype and a new product like this really needs to care about that hype, otherwise... like above... people drop out.

I am in constant contact with the BT boys, I was down at their office the other day. All delays are directly related to the fact they want to make sure this product is absolutely as good as you expect it to be. August shipping was the last I heard, I will see if they can give you all an update :)

I understand the reasons and as I said I'm still patient, but there's almost total silence here and that's not a good thing. Some of us don't know if we should look elsewhere or keep waiting because we don't know "when" we wait for. Then there's the thing with the price that hasn't been adressed, the difference between pricing we all got here and "signed up for" while the web store shows a lower price than this group buy. So what is the final price going to be? Is it going to skyrocket to a level where it isn't a viable option anymore etc.

We are waiting, but if the promise isn't the same as the result we have been waiting for no reason.

Still +1 for me, although every passing day raises the bar of "worth the wait"!!

I am very late to this party, what is the price deal - what price have you guys signed up for and what price have you seen? I will take it to BT directly

THen the group buyy price should be updated and made clear pretty immediately, I think...

This is an interest only thread and Bright Tangerine is now a Reduser Sponsor.

So you are saying this is in fact NOT a group buy?
Then it's hard to follow what it is.

Is BT arranging this?

If it's not a group buy, I should maybe just change the header.
