  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fun...

It's passion like this that makes the world a wonderful place. Glad I've had the chance to be along for the ride since the beginning!

It was my last day in LA today and I wanted to visit the RED Store. I had a great little time checking out the fun stuff, looking at some accessories, touching things I've only seen on the RED Store at red.com...

It's great that this walk-in store even exists. RED wants their customers and their future customers to have a chance to try out products before they buy them. I haven't heard of any other company do this before, only seen their products at conventions and trade shows...RED has a walk-in store, REDUSER for customer interaction and feedback, beta-testing programs...Definitely fun!

Oh, by the way, I got a RED Dragon t-shirt... MUAHAHAHAHAHA. We're just getting started.

If you want a mind-boggling experience (a true DSMC epiphany) check out www.red.com and go to the Shot on RED section... Photography.

The transformation of the fashion world is hard to have imagined.

Jim

That's why I'm almost just as excited to use the Epic for stills as I am for motion. Fun times indeed! And it sure sounds like a lot more fun is coming down the pike......

I don't often respond... but have often visited, warmed by the enthusiasm and creativity I find here. The idea of Jim taking a moment to reflect on what he has inspired is too good to pass up. Jim, you and your team have given us more fun than - even you - might imagine. Breathtaking, breakthrough fun! We are indebted to you!

Jim, thanks for inviting us all to the party. It has been a heck of a ride so far and I can't wait to see what all RED has up its collective sleeve. Oh, and a big thanks for hiring the most incredible people on the planet so all those dreams and visions become real products. I can't imaging life without a RED camera in my hands.

After years of watching this forum and 2 projects shot on MX, I can't imagine wanting to work with another companies cameras. Canon plays it safe and is consistently behind the curve (even after they change the game), Panasonic can kiss my ass: they are a bunch of criminals IMHO, I have pretty much forgotten about JVC, and Arri makes equip I love, but I still feel taken advantage of after paying for even their rentals.

Companies DO NOT adore their customers. They just don't. They punish them.

Make my jaw drop RED. If anyone is going to do it, it will be you.

Drew

The RED team really doesn't get enough credit. If you think about how few of us there are in comparison to the "other companies" it should be considered a miracle what we have accomplished so far. If you knew what was coming you would find other words...

even without knowing we can guess it is gonna be great...thanks so much for your passion...all the passion at RED...the whole team

One other thing that makes this so fun is the fact that we know the "other guys" are scrambling to respond. It is like a chess match. But we have "Mate" in sight. And the winner is our customer. (which is all of us)

Jim

Jim,

Bring it on.

The customers are still waiting very long for affordable RED new lightweight camera with a brand new sensor of course.

I have never seen anything y'all have done as anything less than a miracle. I appreciate your gear, and the people behind it more than a fine wine. And that is saying a lot for me!

Fun is rule number one.
Making it fun for everyone else is rule number two.

Teasing can sometimes be mean. Lol. :)

I'm not that smart for this to happen without the moon and stars lining up and without a ton of impossible work being done by a truly great group of people...

Jim

That's what happens when you follow and consciously cooperate with the manifestation of your destiny. The universe -- or God, if you prefer -- is behind you when you are paddling with the current of your soul's intent. I've known that feeling, but only in fairly short bursts of time. I'm hoping that I finally break through to a more sustained realization of it. Lord knows, I'm trying.:-)

Its so refreshing to deal with a company that has excellent customer service and cares about us. Everything from you (Jim) answering our questions to my bomb squad guy Rory who has happily answered my never ending questions

Having fun here in Amsterdam now showing off RED on one of the world's biggest movie screens... Next stop, all over Asia again.

I actually feel a little guilty trekking around the world having so much fun I can barely contain myself, and getting the opportunity to represent RED. People bring us Hugs, Stories of their wild levels of success with our cameras, and all kinds of ways to express how much they dig being part of the RED world. (just over the past few days, 30lbs of swiss chocolate, some of the best wine the world, a giant aged ham, and many other greetings and thanks in so many ways have come our way... not a normal company & customer relationship I would venture to guess :-)

yeah, If you haven't guessed by seeing the smile on my face in 100s of venues around the world - I'm having a bit of Fun :-)

It's a vast honor and pleasure to spend time with so many people working with our tools and getting so much out of it.

Also to go from concept, to creation, to your perpetual evolution in such a short period of time with your limited number of staff. It really is inconceivable. Kudos.

You give the best Ted talks around. :)

Jim - You're generally very deliberate with your wording. Can I look to your capitalization of the word "police" as a sign, too? ;)
