Jarred do you have anymore updates for us? Would love to see what Element Technica has been cooking up in terms of side handle.

What if we have a 6K Weapon on order and don't want the forged carbon fiber body? Can we get the woven instead?
M
Another Forged Carbon Weapon fresh out of the oven. Looks like we are going to be making alot more of of these in both 6k and 8k than I imagined... So much so that the first W6k shipments in July likely will all be Forged. Pretty incredible considering it is an unlisted camera that you need to actually arm wrestle your sales rep to order

I'll Have a 8k Forged Carbon please.
SUPER LIGHT ! SUPER POWERFUL ! ...
400FPS 4k would be a nice touch.
Same as slow motion has become so prevalent in today's commercial production.
I have daydreamed a bit on how to execute this within the RED ecosystem.
I think a "burst mode" with limited record time one day for such high FPS would be nice and easier to execute, then write that to card.
It would take a few advancements. Hardware on the brain upgrade (insane speedy RAM buffer), some pipes/boards, and likely a sensor upgrade would be needed. As well as the coding to handle the burst mode.
For me what would be useful is essentially a 200%-250% FPS boost for burst, which would be 8K FF at 120fps-150fps on the top tier Weapon 8K. A 15 to 30 second buffer would likely satisfy most special applications. That should give Mark about 400fps for 15-30 seconds as well. At speed, that would be an impressively long clip.
That would need to be an insanely fast 1 to 2 TB buffer in there. Doable, but it would cost moolah.
A phrase from NIKE's handbook.... JUST DO IT !
AFAIK the Dragon sensor tech, in either the 6K or 8K cut, has a fixed read/reset ceiling. If true, no turbo electronics/buffer/storage on the back side of the sensor will matter...
and likely a sensor upgrade would be needed.

I really like the look of that forged weapon and I know I'm not the only one but what's the real weight difference with the CF one?
Any other benefit than weight? I don't want to start hassling my rep for nothing![]()
I believe the weight is the same. My rep told me it adds $10,000 but puts you at the top of the shipping list. I think that's really what justifies the price. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The strength of the Forged carbon is significantly higher as well. People that are googling forged composites and ending up looking at Lamborghini parts are looking at the wrong thing.
We are starting with a a forged block of Carbon "Billet" made of random slices of fibers and we machine down each piece down to the final product, instead of just laying up carbon fiber in a mold like traditional carbon is made. The strength comes from our Forged Carbon being 3 dimensional instead of just 2 dimensional like the traditional layers of carbon fabric laid on top of each other . That process is insanely expensive to do and takes much much longer for every piece which is why it explains the price. Hope that helps.
