nope, focus mark should only reset when lens is changed, not on playback...
please email me so I can see if it is something I can reproduce here and fix.

Key mapping via REDLINK is a new camera feature only available in the (currently in beta) 6.4 / IPP2 firmware...

as long as the device runs iOS 8.1 you are good.
Only downside is the screen size compared to recent larger phones...

I thought foolcontrol let you take a screenshot of the lcd display, but I can't find out how. Was I dreaming or is there really a way to do that? Besides... is it even possible to take a screenshot without foolctonrol?

The camera can assign a key to a function called "Save UI Screenshot to Media". FWIW It will not save the image itself, just the overlays.

foolcontrol OS X has a direct button for this, but not the iOS app... but

latest version of foolcontrol can assign user keys (with the 6.4 beta FW), otherwise once assigned to a button on the camera you can press it virtually in foolcontrol (using a softkeys or via the keys page)...

I am running into troubles since I updated foolcontrol to 2.71.
On main screen when I click on "rec settings" or in the field "continuous record" the app freezes completely. I have to kick the app and restart. But problem remains. I deleted the app and re-installed from the apple store. Still the same.
This problem only occurs on iPod 5 Touch iOS 9.3.5 and iPhone 5S iOS 10.3.1, foolcontrol 2.71
Odd though, on my iPad Mini iOS 10.2, foolcontrol 2.5, everything works fine.

EpicW running release 6.3.102, or beta 6.4.23. On both firmware issue is the same.


Any idea? My camera goes out for rent mid next week for a whole week and I always include iPod 5 Touch with foolcontrol in the package. I would appreciate if you can release a fix asap.

We had a similar issue at cinegear on the iPad the first day... reinstalling ended up fixing it but i will submit a new built today as it seems something was wrong with this button / advanced page loading.

Hey Mika,

I’m running the latest beta (DSMC2 Beta Build v6.4.23) and I’m getting some issues I haven’t seen before in the foolcontrol App (Version: 2.71) before. I thought I’d share in case they haven’t been reported.

- Camera not detected while scanning. Only through manual IP.
- More frequent disconnects, even while in close proximity (iPhone is mounted on camera.)
- Connection errors. I have to switch wifi on/off and restart App to get it going again.
- App freezing when trying to switch between ProRes and R3D.
- Bug when selecting target REDCODE. Screen pops up without info (see screenshot).
- Bug when selecting format. Screen pops up without info (see screenshot).

This might be because of the beta, and I’m fully aware issues arise on betas, I just wated to share the info in case some bugs need squashing.
