  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

First Look - Schneider Xenon FF-Prime Lenses

Looks like the 25 is here...but only one lens?! Lol I need to get my hands on one ASAP! Hope whoever gets it is a Reduser and provides some feedback!

You lucky guy! Don't know you, but hope you put that baby to work and have a blast using it. I'm scrambling to try and get one before year end...we'll see. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Let us know if you find anything different from the others in the set...as I only have the 35, 50, 75, you likely have the 100 and now the 25- making you the first in the states to have the "complete" initial set...who knows when we'll see that 18 :willy_nilly:
 
Just finished an other project, a Fashion Film on this great lenses... And the 100mm shined on the extreme close ups... on the next shoot the 25mm will be used the most as all the Ronin shots will be doe with it glued on it... :)

Something much wider would be nice for these shots with Ronin Ketch.
Zeiss 15 and. 21 would be awesome!
For 3 axis gimbal, Nikon 14-24 rehouse would be the way to go.

Been getting some great shots with the 35mm but this new current Fashion Film project will get much use of the new 25mm Xenon, which will be glued to the Ronin for most of the Film...

Note that this shot was taken prior the camera been fully build up... I just didn't get a chance to take an other shot... 14 hours days 6 days strait, big Fashion Film... :)

I just ordered and received my 100mm from Texas Media Systems after searching non-stop for a shop with the 100mm in stock... they were a dream to work with!
 
Getting my 25mm tomorrow, so I have the 25,5,75 & 100mm, if anyone needs to rent the full set. Matthew Duclos is going to post some test results of the 25, vs.more expensive similarly sized lenses, etc.. Should be instructive.

I'm looking for a case for my Xenons (5 lenses). I checked out the iSeries 2011 Lens Case by SKB and wasn't in love. I have a few extra Pelican 1510 cases kicking around and I'm wondering if anyone makes a foam insert for the Pelican. Any suggestions?
 
ha! Just this morning I was eyeing that up in the 1510... with the idea of putting a larger piece of foam on the top of the case to take up the negative space. I think I may do that for the time being.
 
I have 3 of the 5 that I preordered. Does anybody know when the other 2 are expected to ship from Film Tools? I was first on the list for the EF mount lenses so I assumed I'd have mine by now. Film Tools is not responding to my e-mails... I know there was some confusion about their future business but didn' tknow if that has been worked out with regard to this group buy?
 
Filmtools unfortunately have been the worst at communications, have purchased two sets of 5 from them, and despite multiple emails they just have been none responsive...

I do know that the gentlemen that was working there at the time we all placed our original orders also thanks to Phil's work in getting a discount, does no longer works there, and not sure what is going on at Filmtools now, just very uncool about their poor customer service now!!

Either way I no longer care for myself, as I am selling one of my full set of 5 anyways, but it's so uncool that they just don't care to reply!

I got a very nice Nanuk case (made in the Great White North) with custom foam insert for 5 Xenons from Hot Rod Camera. I think it was about $400. However, my original set of 3 is getting very lonely waiting for their relatives to arrive from Germany..

There's another 25mm heading out in the world and it will be in my hands on Tuesday. Unfortunately I head home the very next morning for Christmas, so I won't have a chance to really do anything with it til the new year.

Hopefully more people start receiving notifications of availability in the next few weeks.

In the meantime - if anyone wants to check out a full set in New York, feel free to touch base.
