EPIC Schedule Update...

I know it's hard to guess right now, but how long do you think it will approximately take to deliver all the Stage 2 Epics and start stage 3 ?

It's a very important question for all the people trying to decide right now if they will chose stage 2 or stage 3...
Do you know how many Epics / month you'll be able to deliver ?

Absolutely.
But I'm asking this question because I'm trying to decide if I'll go with stage 2 or stage 3. So if I wait until the 1st of June, it will be too late for me to make that decision...:001_unsure:

That's why I'm asking for a guestimate right now, knowing that it won't be perfectly acurate. But just a ballpark figure would help. Will it be like 1 month, or more like 6 months between the 2 stages ? How many units per month will be delivered ? That's something they might already know...

if someone decides to do stage 3, but after 1.june his cam gets stolen or has a total crash( dropped from heli f.e.), what happens then?

Uh-oh. Based on that jpg I won't be able to trade in my R1 body towards EPIC at all. Last year, when I was considering buying a R1, so many folks kept reminding me what a good investment it is, and that I would be able to trade it in for the full $17,500 towards EPIC S35 - despite having missed the October 29th deadline. Apparently that is no longer the case; Stages 1-3 are for RED owners who bought their camera before October 29th, and Stage 4 description makes no mention of a trade-in. :willy_nilly:

Petri, if you got your R1 after Oct 30 you WILL be able to trade it for the full credit.

This info is just for EPIC-X, which is a special configuration for early Red owners.

Worry not, you are fine, you just need to wait until EPIC-X gets out the door and they start the "regular" EPIC models. At this point I'm sure you can trade in your R1 for a $17,500 credit towards an EPIC brain only.

Petri, same here. We bought R1 december, after long consider last autumn if wait for Epic (when it comes...) or invest on R1. Now tried to participate for stage-2, and keeping red one, it's not possible (we were too late). Of course Red had to draw the line some where but for us it's a bit disappointing.

Great news. Of course, we all request a more detailed schedule as far as Stage 3, Stage 4, Scarlet 2/3" / S35 go. So far, we only know that Tattoos are going out in May, and Stage 2 is July/August.

The rest is all up to speculation, so looking forward to more indicative dates come NAB time. Of course I know it is too early to predict a concrete date for Scarlet, but a rough idea would be nice.

Yeah, well, I was aware that by buying in December I wouldn't be eligible for stages 1-3 and I was fine with it. But for a moment there it looked like I wouldn't be able to trade it in for full value at all, and that would have absolutely crushed me.
