  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-S (old Scarlet S35) update...

i need the epic to run through the city and shoot my nightmarish big city triangle greed eats everybody movie...
the r1 is too heavy for me and going to the gym is a thing of the past :)
 
How many Epics do you hope to have shipped by NAB? Obviously, it's just an estimate but what is your predication as of now?

Not to mention, more affordable than what should be legal for competition to remain fair...
 
EPIC-S really does sound right - and I mean the name... ;)
The decision to go pro with the ex-scarlet S35 seems so perfect and also so obvious, that it really makes you wonder why it wasn't like that from the beginning :D

I assume that EPIC-S will probably be the weapon of choice for TV / Broadcast.
So I don't think they will really cannibalize sales of the X, as those seem more fit for the Movie business - or let me say: as a more versatile story telling tool (because bigger TV series might choose the X as well)

well at least my goodfornothing2cents there....
 
is the ssd side module included in the ± 12000$ price?

What do you expect the lead time for an EPIC-X (or EPIC-S, for that matter) to be once all orders are out the door?
 
Thank you Jim for clearing up the Epic - S specs and prices and estimated delivery dates: so you ramp up production in june and a mere mortal non first customer non hollywood heavyweight non super special person might be able to have a epic-s in hand by summer solstice?

Do I read this right that this price includes an ssd side module?

I know its been challenging and at times it must have seemed pretty elusive, but you did it, You and your Team, and I thank you for committing to this program when, let's face it, you didn't have to. I really do appreciate your dedication and leadership on this.

While the dumbasses at Harvard might not have wanted to hear your story, I certainly do. Your professional career holds many lessons and I'd really like to hear about that journey. You are about to deliver a product I've dreamed about my entire professional life, and you did it when no one else thought it was possible. For that reason alone, I really need to know the nuts and bolts of how and when.

You are an American Business success story of the first order and your biography will inspire many more after you. I really hope you can find some time to devote to this, I think its important. This isn't about stoking your ego, I genuinely believe there is actionable insight in what you have to share.
 
6 months, development and pre-production. Check. Epic-S purchase or Epic-x Rental? Check! I'm going to make at least one feature this year. Thanks JIM!!!!!
