Rainer,

maybe this could help

After Effects EDL Import by Joofa>>>

I was able to get stuff in with a script called FCPtoAE, it will import a FCP XML into AE

I can edit in FCP, use clip finder to change the XML to point to the R3d's and start using R3d files instead of Pro res or Proxy in After Effects.

To import in CS3 and then open in CS4 sounds good, but not a thing what is called a workflow....
Importing to PPCS4 is not possible, because I need to import DPX files. So AE is the only way at the moment.... other good finishing software is wellcome....

Working with R3D at editing in FCP needs to convert the files in prores anyway. The L&T plugin works for this step only in this way.... everything else is not smooth enough.
My time is at the moment over for FCP, im going to Avid... MC rocks in quality and a professional tool.
Color does at the moment only a half debayer, so the direct RED workflow through FCP and Color is on the bottom line in quality issues.
AE seems for me a affordable tool for finishing, if you doenst have a better way at home.....

thx

FCP/Crimson/Redcine export to DPX then import to AFX.

Avid MC R3D workflow is still even more "labyrinth" way than with FCP.

Alex you are right.... with AE is the RAW workflow nice.... but its not possible to change color space and LUT of the red material right??? would be nice to choose... seems to be redspace/redspace....
