  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC accessories from ActionProducts

Brian..see you have the new Raptor rig video on your homepage but when will more
info on it be available and how it fits in with the rest of the ActionCam line..?..ok..thanks..

The Raptor is on hold at the moment. It will be a own line of stabilizing system - however still modular to the actioncam to about 80%. After we get the next few Epic accessories in production we will continue with the Raptor development. However I need to point out here. You will be able to use the Raptor with the Epic. It is however more thought to be for lighter cameras (a full Epic setup is not as light as many think). Depending on what the final Scarlet will look like - it mite be a perfect rig for it ...

As you all know there has been a change made by RED on the the top of the Epic-X. This has made it necessary to adapt these changes for our TopPlate. The -X version will be going in production this week. What means we will be shipping the first units some time within the next 3 weeks. For all Epic-M customers. The M version is on stock at the moment and shipping. We will be offering a upgrade for all M owners. You will be able to send your plate in when you have your camera on its way to RED. All shipping costs need to be covered by the customer. We are going to keep this offer up running for new orders too at least for now. When you order your TopPlate please don't forget to mentions if its for the M or the X.

We have D-Tap to 2pin Lemo (0B size) on stock - contact ActionProducts or Inocinema for details. Generaly we can make any cable you want, just send us the details:).

Brian

Thanks Brian!

What would it take to get an IDX V-block plate wired with a B LIMO, say 18-20" or so? That way you could mount a Red Brick on the backside of your shoulder and power the camera with one cable. That's what I'm looking for. When not in that mode, you could just loop the cable.

While the D-tap is a good option, it's nice to have the V-Block hard wired with good strain relief, while keeping the D-tap open for AKS.

UPDATE: We now feature the Shoulder Mount "razor" Module on the Innocinema website.

The ActionProducts ShoulderMount Module is a optimal combination of a "video-style" and "cine-style" shoulder mount construction. You can use it with your own 19mm or 15mm rod setups (bridge-plates, dovetails, camera and tripod plates, directly on the camera) or QR systems in combination with our products. It will work with any setup that provides 1/4" and/or 3/8" treads to mount it to.
This product is fully modular. In combination with an Arri style bridge-plate and our Arri Universal Adapter you have a fully lightweight but heavy duty shoulder-mount setup that allows you to change from tripod to shoulder in seconds. Modularity: The "Razor" Module is the shoulder part only. The Rods, grips, BridgePlate etc need to be added or already have to be in your possession for a full shoulder-mount rig.

-Universal mounting possibilities
-360˚ (rosette based) tilt ability
-Can be used with basically any camera (REDone, Epic ready, DSLR ...)
-Very light!!: 695g (1.54 lbs) and tough construction
-Various ad-ons and accessories available
-Compatible with most industry standard accessories

UPDATE: EPIC TopPlate “Apollo” now with more information listed on Innocinema.com

If used standalone, you would just distribute the 3 cords accordingly…
  • D-TAP with any industry standard battery
  • HD-SDI BNC connecting into HDSDI port on the EPIC
  • 4 pin LEMO connecting in the SYNC port on the EPIC
When used with our EPIC Power Distributor, all the cords will be neatly tucked away.

Here is some more information on what functionality is brought to our EPIC TopPlate utilizing the 4 pin LEMO in the EPIC's sync port… "A 4-pin LEMO connector supports shutter synchronization input, GPI, timecode and genlock signals. The shutter Sync Input signal acts as an immediate response hardware trigger to commence a scan. This is useful for motion control and other applications where the camera is driven by a master timing device. When using SYNC as the camera shutter timing reference, fine shutter start time timing (SHUTTER PHASE) is disabled, make any timing adjustments at the external SYNC generator itself. Alternatively, this input pin may be used as a GPI (General Purpose Input) trigger, whose function is programmed in the USER KEYS menu. Default is Record Start / Stop. A SMPTE timecode input signal provides a frame accurate time stamp for each frame of recorded video. A Video Genlock input signal may be used as a vertical interval reference signal for applications that require precise synchronization between cameras, such as 3D and live broadcasts. When using GENLOCK as the camera shutter timing reference, fine shutter start time timing (SHUTTER PHASE) may be adjusted." From RED EPIC Operation Guide.

- Open standard power connector (2pin female LEMO) to connect to various power sources

- Provides BNC connector pass-though for HD-SDI(the current EPIC BNC is located in a difficult to get to spot - the "apollo" links it to the top of the camera for easy access)
- SS/GPI; TC; GENLOCK BNC's (rather than the small 4 pin connector the EPIC uses)
- Can work standalone or with the upcoming Power Distributor "electra"
- Designed to work properly with shoulder mounts. Reroutes all cords away from your face.

Justin - is the D-tap -to- Lemo Power tap adapter cable available separately? Thinking for use to connect battery to Epic/Scarlet...

Next batch of Riser Plate and XLR Audio Adapter will ready to ship next week. The 15mm Rod Mount Audio is on backorder (3 weeks).

Its a 2pin Lemo - not the 6pin Power for the Epic. We could make the D-Tap to Epic. However I don't recommend this because of the wiring specifications.

Epic-X all equipped with our accessories (TopMount is missing because its in production for the X ...). You see - Riserplate (XLR Audio would be on the other side), 15mm Rod Mount, Universal Arri Adapter, Bridgeplate .....

Not yet - but soon. We are finalizing some extra ideas we had ... I think we should be able to announce pricing some time this week.

This can't come soon enough. Prepped the first big job with the Epic, and what a cluster... In my opinion, it's only half a camera at the moment. Trying to power a FIZ, onboard monitor, wireless video (since there isn't any playback), audio, timecode...we had so many cables and pieces/parts on the camera, it was ridiculous. If you guys get the Elektra out there before the Pro I/O (which doesn't even have a spec sheet yet), I'll take two!

Just one word: "Electra". It's like Red's backpack but with more functionality. I'm under NDA at the moment but I can say that this thing is crazy cool.
I will buy this one for sure. AP will go life with it in 2 weeks. You don't just put a brick on it, you can do so much more. You must check it out in 2 weeks.
Daryl and Justin will show it to you soon. It is worth the wait, really.

AP Top Plate. Also a must have. Riser with Audio Adaptor, perfect.

Go check it out. The Top Plate and Riser with Audio Adaptor are already in their store. The Electra will follow shortly.

I'm sold. This is the way to go. Period.

Tim

ps: I'm not sponsored by them in any way, but you have to see it to believe it....:yesnod:
