if we hit the numbers then it will all balance out since its quarterly and those that paid the extra $12500 price we can credit the difference back @ NAB towards whatever is next.

Yeah, but that'd understandably piss off every person that upgraded for $12500 in the last two months. And, I mean, if they're crazy enough to do that, why not lower Scarlet-X-to-Scarlet-D back to $9500?

BTW I just had an imaginary phone call with the DP that coined the term " I just came back from shooting the best shot with my camera " .

He shared with me his sympathy for relating cameras to weapons. They both shoot things but I guess he had a whole army of farmers with burning pitchforks at his doorstep because some people either missed the relation or some people just take things way too seriously.

All I can say is Thank you. If you can do that, for a lot of us that were on the fence, either upset at our own financial position, or for making some bad assumptions, that would be awesome! I was NEVER mad that there was an upgrade coming. I welcome change. I just didn't agree with the timing of the price increase and made some assumptions about what went on behind closed doors...This is why I took my time and tried to convey my thoughts. Clearly and concisely. I was upset...but a lot of the blame was with myself.

I'm not a rental house. I don't rent my gear. So from your perspective, I probably am wrong. I'm an indie filmmaker...who owns his gear. Like I said, dreams and debt. Apologies for making it personal, but for me, I want to make sure that I stay up with the technology. That's why I chose Red. A lot of people keep saying there's no other company like Red...I know. That's why I chose them. After my indie project, I want to be able to find work around town directing other projects while I edit my own production and get ready for festivals and stuff. I never "bitched" and always said what was happening was a part of life- I need to deal with it. BUT, I didn't understand the timing of the price increase given the (what I perceived) transparency in timeline for the NAB announcement and the hard stop date for Dragon conversion's to end. I was under the impression that we had at least another year (maybe even mid '16) before the MX-Dragon upgrades would stop.

I, like a lot of others, JUST got my EPIC early summer last year. My brain has around 12 hours on it (maybe 15, I need to check again). Seriously. All my eggs are in one basket...I'm in Vegas and I'm betting everything on "Red"... to launch my career and chase the dream...and to be honest, I like it that way.I missed out. I made an assumption. I was terribly wrong. I didn't have a year for the upgrade to Dragon from MX. I had about 4/5 months...you don't have to do anything (Jarred), but the fact that you're even considering this is a testament to why I believe in the brand.

If you can make this happen, I, along with others, would sincerely appreciate it.

With all the upgrading and new body and all... Can you tell us anything if the (back) DSMC modules will still work with weapon or will this all be new?

I have a Dragon, but not the mini mag option yet. I know I need that moving forward, but do I need that before weapon or can I get the mini-mag option at that time? I'm also wondering if I need the mini-mad module or if that will be part of the new system and should just buy some mini-mags then. Lots of ?'s, can't wait till april.
