It would be great to get an update on plans for a new RR card.

Its inevitable... but it's not a priority right now. It wont really be a replacement, The Turbo Rocket is going to be more for the power mongers out there.. insane speeds with some expensive horsepower. Current Rocket will work just fine, and you can double current Rocket up if you want to go even faster.
This is mind blowing. Are you guys confident in RED Zooms for use with 6k?

Ah, great to know Jarred! I know quite a few people holding off on RED Rocket purchases thinking a cheaper upgrade is just around the corner. This will make the decision a lot easier.
when it's relatively long in the tooth as such things go.

The resolution is nuts... For reference, the dotted line below is a 1920x1080p window.... Dragon = 10x the resolution of 1080p.

I think Blair may be partly talking about perception. I've heard people say they don't want to pay $4750 for a card that's been out for a few years. To which I would say, it's really one of the only choices to get realtime or better rendering of full quality R3D, even now. Or spend a lot of money on a souped up computer. Either way, it takes money to get the best quality.Time is money. Without Rocket, I wouldn't have the patience for the workflow, especially with a lot of dailies. Now if something better comes along, great. For now, Rocket is still king, at least in my little world.long in the tooth? wow.
I dont think some people really understand / appreciate just what the Rocket does.. and how much it really should cost..
