Check the Dragon thread and ask Jarred here... He's stated several times 2000 was native and Dragon has half the noise of the MX sensor.
This shot reminds me of something I've been wondering about for a while: any chance we can get Chromatic Aberration correction in REDCine?

Important question for future buyer of the RED EPIC...Will it be possible to buy it directly when the dragon is gonna be available or US, new buyer will have to wait for the first owner to go threw the upgrade program? Please answer to me about that?
My guess may be that the Epic-M owners could have exclusivity for a short while before they are available to purchase.
Thanks, so EPIC-M first and then would be available for new buyers... that make sense.
BTW.... DRAGON is REDRAY compliant![]()
This is cool as shit sitting here watching Dragon footage @ 4K on a REDRAY hooked up to a 84" 4K screen playing back at 9 Mbit/sec...

Don't sum the two things:
- native ISO is 2000 instead of MX's 800.
- it has less then half of the noise of the MX. (1+1/3 stop)
they means the same thing.
affirming both means that it's it's ~3 times better.
it's more important for me knowing at what ISO it has 50% of the dynamic range in the highlights and 50% in the shadows.
100% certain it will not be cheaper. The next rocket will cost us almost 2x as much to make.
Someone forgot to tell the FPGA community that things are supposed to be getting cheaper![]()
the way the cookie crumbles I suppose, double the price is a lot, but in essence if it can out perform 2 rockets would probably be worth it. having that kind of performance is equal to just buying 2 rockets brand new, maybe a little cheaper, maybe more powerful. since it's still on the drawing boards, I really hope you guys can keep it single width, and hopefully hdsdi built right on the board this time around! the dvi thing I never thought was very necessary from the get go. having hd sdi right on it at this point would be killer.
maybe even 12 bit so we can see all that great dynamic range of dragon![]()
long in the tooth? wow.
I dont think some people really understand / appreciate just what the Rocket does.. and how much it really should cost..
