+1... nice!

Interested.

There needs to be an understanding that Representatives (paid or not) of competing products are to not comment on GB threads as a professional courtesy.

The point is that it is unprofessional and disrespectful to voice that opinion in someone else's GB Shop.

A bit of Group Buy Etiquette would lift the level of dialog and professionalism in my view

I hope you're trying to be ironic Zeb! :lipsrsealed:

By the way, I'm totally interested in this/your GB!

interested, especially if there is a steadicam mount

Thank you Matt. I really appreciate your research efforts and the deep understanding of my concerns. Now you give me the project of explaining my motives behind those posts.

1. My goal was to provoke a direct response from Besteady to see if they were real so I could make a personal buying decision. They gave me my answer.
2. The posts were done before NAB/DJI so I was an independent voice
3. I am not in any way compensated by any gimbal supplier nor have a vested interest in Besteady as you do
4. It was clear that no one was asking for a simple verification of facts - months after paying for a final production unit. In fact you were personally dissuading others from doing so.
5. It was and still is sound advice that is in the best interest of the RED User - show proof of life or refund the deposit
6. Besteady never did show their prototype at NAB as you promised. The story goes: FedEx showed up with it right as the show doors closed on Thursday . . .

If the DJI GB goes way beyond the formal deadline before even showing a working prototype then I would expect others to post as I did. But that is not going to happen because I do not attach my reputation to high risk ventures and ask others to invest in a company I do not feel personally good about. DJI and AMP are top of their respective fields so they can deliver what they promise.

It is easy for a guy like you to take shots at a guy like me since I am the one being proactive in both threads and actually doing something productive. I'm looking forward to seeing your contribution to this forum.

Zeb, jeeze, chill please. I was hoping that my post would be taken a little more light heartedly. I wasn't trying to "take shots" at you...just noted the irony of your posts in the gimbal threads. Either way: I've offended you. I apologize.

You are questioning my credibility in a public forum Mate

I'm not questioning anything Zeb, certainly not your credibility. I agree with your notions on GB etiquette, just saw the irony in the light of your posts over in a the BeSteady GB thread. I realize they were before the fact.

I know two things: 1. I meant it as a friendly jibe. 2. you took it as a public questioning of your credibility. I regret that, have publicly told you that wasn't my intention, and publicly apologized.

Hoping to move on now brother and many thanks for initiating this GB and everything else you do for RU

Across the board, I think Zeb deserves major Kudos for setting up this group buy. It's easy to see how these purchases can be a lot of work, and personally draining. The community gains so much from the work of the few, so much kudos are in order. Looking forward to more details about this.

I'm not only INTERESTED - I'm all in on this rig. I've worked with MOVI on several jobs and I know the advantages and disadvantages of that rig. And MOVI did a lot of stuff right - but it's far from a perfect solution. It drove me to hire someone to build a custom rig for OFFHOLLYWOOD - and then hire another guy to improve that custom rig and make it actually perform - which I'm still improving. I now know more than I ever wanted to know about gimbals.

I spent a lot of time at DJI - and I will just say this now - all hype and marketing aside - THIS is the rig you want.

If I don't get one of the very first of these shipped - I will be pissed. So ... Zeb ... you better deliver :)

BTW I linger on this review quite a bit. Mark's enthusiasm for the DJI is hard to overlook...

Will this thing be able to handle an Epic with a Master prime you think? With a focus motor and redvolt the rig would weigh around 15 lbs which I know it says is in the right weight range but I'm still skeptical.
