Cool Per, how are you going to power it. I did a preorder but I started to be unsure how I wanted to power it and some other rig questions. I dont want to invest in redvolts. I thought It might be better I waited to se some good setups.

Will this Gimbal work with Red Epic with Red Pro Prime 18mm lens attached to it?

Hey guys new to REDUSER and was wondering what wireless video options everyone is planning on using for their Ronin? I have preordered a Ronin and I am weighing wireless video options now, mainly the DJI Lightbridge and Paralinx Arrow+. I also fly a drone in which a Lightbridge setup would be better because of range, but the Arrow+ seems to work better for Ronin on set use because of better latency.

Some questions directed towards Willis or anyone with their hands a Ronin currently. I know DJI really wants people to use their Lightbridge with the Ronin with the integrated port and what people are saying is a open space in the Ronin case for a Lightbridge. Looking at the Lightbridge, it is both a video downlink and controller uplink, so in using the Lightbridge does this affect the controller that comes with the Ronin? The Lightbridge requires a trainer port on a controller to plug into. Does the Ronin controller have this or would you need to upgrade the controller? Or would the Lightbridge only act as video downlink on the Ronin?

The Lightbridge is perhaps acceptable for drone use, but if you're going to do video monitoring then closely check its performance before you buy. I haven't used a unit in person, just researched it because I was looking for such a solution myself.
All Lightbridge videos so far exhibit at least 220ms of lag (sometimes up to 400ms, depending on the end equipment used), and even worse - there's choppiness, like frames are dropped or grouped together. Also DJI has cut the support for 1080p in the latest firmware (only supports 720p), although its unclear whether they are going to return it (they said its temporary). Some speculation on RCGroups is that they were caught red handed using much more than the allowed radio spectrum in the 2.4GHZ ISM band, and had to dial back the performance of the system as a result. I don't know about that, but that's one theory.

The trainer port uplink the Ronin has isn't necessarily a useful advantage. It tethers you to the base unit Lightbridge unit with a cable, which is completely unneeded given the great range of most R/C TX units.
Once DJI fixes the choppiness and improve a bit on latency, I'll feel comfortable buying a Lightbridge. Until then I'm on the fence.

Thanks for the insight Roee. Have been on the fence myself, but have been slowly leaning away from the Lightbridge because of the lag and the choppiness I have been seeing lately.
