Has anyone ever tried to get support on a DJI product ?
I use their A2 flight controller and the Wookong and Naza and can say dealing with DJI is a fruitless frustration excises.
i checked out the Roin at NAB and spoke to their crew there and from what I can gather this gimbal is for the low end market and not fit for a professional film environment.
MoVi still have the lead for professional Filmmakers in product and support and the H14 is on it's heals as it's more powerful and less then half the price.
There is no doubt there are a lot of gimbal options, just as there are different end user groups. Smaller companies react faster and support their uses better and in the film industry support is a big deal, especially with a gimbal.
Unfortunately Rory is right, getting service from DJI was problematic to say the least mainly because of their horrible operation in Austin that was run by a scam artist who is currently in a lawsuit with DJI and other parties he defrauded. However DJI now has a support operation in Hollywood right across the street from Red and will be much more responsive in the future with their pro clients.

I have worked with the movi and have edited red footage that was shot with it. To be honest it isn’t all that stable. the operator still needs to work hard at making sure that there is no vertical drops, cause it doesn’t correct that movement like a steadicam does. Don’t get me wrong it still does an amazing job at holding a red steady. I can’t wait to see test footage with this toy. Im pretty sure it will keep up with the movi no problem. If they said they are using the same zenmuse technoogly then it will be great. Ive been using my Phantom 2 and Zenmuse as a handheld movi as well with my GoPro and it works just as good when its up in the air.
In my experience DJI support has been terrible. Actually more like non-existent. I don’t know why anyone would spend that much money to support a greedy Chinese company that does not support their customers.
