Because of a bent pin in an EVF cable my CPU board shorted out. It seems that a new board is $4700 plus $200 for labor. I am somewhat surprised by this price for the board.
anyone else experienced this replacement cost?

Yikes! That's truly scary that a bent pin on a cable could do so much damage, i wonder how many times this has happened. Bending a cable pin and losing $5000? I'd have to shoot myself. I thought that the hardware had better protection than that, though I'm a software engineer and not very knowledgeable on the hardware side of things. But still, how the hell does the EVF fry the main CPU? Lol, now i'll be constantly checking my cables.
EDIT: Hopefully Epic has better hardware protection and modularity for cheaper component replacement.
