  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 16 Low Light footage!!

Very nice stuff. It reminds me a bit of Star Wars 4. Tatuine.
Sorry for the comparison but that's what hit me first.
Great footage.

Yeah definitely, but for the sake of SW geekism, its "tatooine" :) The costumes are definitely reminiscent of SW too. I'd say it's a flattering comparison.

I don't know what you mean???

It's just that 4c is such a nothing number that it hardly warrants recognition, ordinarily.

Now 4k... THAT's a Red Letter number!:w00t:

A bit of footage for checking the noise

A bit of footage for checking the noise

Here are some moving pictures in order to judge the noise level and quality
Only natural light, just a 2 small handheld reflectors:

Just incredible too have this amount of info in this shadows, are you really using the red zoom?, congrats! for the shoots, and congrats to the red team for the B16!.

Again, great footage! Fine work! BTW, "Whose baby is that?" actually comes from, "The Flintstones" when Fred is so flabberghasted by too many questions that he doesn't know what to answer. I grew up with them; still unable to tell when their references will crop up. If only I was so brilliant!

Nevertheless, you were great and gave a very competent and correct answer. Thank you.

Does anyone else notice the vertical lines in image

Does anyone else notice the vertical lines in image

The blue vertical line noise is quite evident in picture three, it looks almost like a neg scratch. I would prefer random noise, to the vertical lines. I find that some footage is unacceptable with these lines. You can see it in the left side of the frame, in the mountains. It is clearly there in the original post picture.

When I was at Red day, the camera they had, clearly showed the lines also. I use build 16. At 500asa and up, they are there. I do not see why they have high asa values, if the images have vertical lines and again look like neg scratches.

Ok,

I've just uploaded the 4k tiff of this image, so people, unleash your hound dogs and try to find those vertical blue lines, I must say that I couldn't find a thing…
It doesn't mean it's not there though.
So you are all invited to check it for yourselves.

Don't forget that this image has allready been pushed a good bit in RedCine when you will murder it in Photoshop:)

Ok, my bad,

There has been a file transfert issue, only 41.5 out of 48 got transfered.

Transfert is now finished.

Can't download any of the mov files, is there a way for you to post at least one of them on a server elsewhere, even a smaller 720p version or so?

Are you using a browser?

Because you should be using a free ftp utility like cyberduck.

There is only one mov file in my folder ProRes_2k.mov

I am not reponsible for the other folders.

Hope this help

Just saw this thread today, but I wanted to chime in too - very beautiful, inspiring work Emmanuel! I can't wait to see some longer clips; natural light is so wonderful when treated right. Great job.

Get yer hound dogs out the door.

Get yer hound dogs out the door.

Thank you guys for those warm comments, I am printing them all and I will stick 'em in my living room for everybody to see, should look pretty awesome:w00t:

More seriously,

Could anyone find those damn vertical blue lines in that 4k file?:detective2:
