  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

This is what everyone has been working on Guys.. I've been getting firmware upgrades consistantly. They are not messing around, they are really getting this stuff nailed down.

You see in the video I screwed the wheel up as much as I could and did not lose my marks.

In the episodes to come I will show you how to turn off the camera, the mount, and the impero and come back weeks later and all your origional focus points will STILL be there.

Very cool. Lot's of fun things to show.. I want my voice back so bad!!!

Wow! Amazing! Can't wait! I was hoping that was the surprise! I have it on my 18-50 and it is really cool!

Curt's knob looks amazing--solid well thought out, amazing--great work--I can't wait!!!

The meter marking looks a bit far--to my eyes over a 100 meters or am I misreading it?

Just a little FYI for those waiting, got my "Pay up it's coming in a week" message and I am in the December 5 batch (2007). Now I know there are people who have had that message for months, but I truely believe it is now shipping. I truely believe it will be coming in the next few weeks and i can't wait!

Record Button?!!!

Record Button?!!!

I see a "Record Button" with a light. Does that work to remote trigger the record with the Birger on bluetooth (now that there is lens data it must have a camera connection) or does it only work in some tethered mode or if you buy some of Curt's other stuff?

Record start/stop works on both the Birger an our Impero.

Everything works guys.. and it works well. There are so many features on the damn impero that Curt has been forced to tutor me on it. I'm going to try to cover it all, but it does a lot of neat stuff.

You will be happy

This is just very, very cool.

Pure speculation here but...
Eric are you waiting for the videos to be finished before you send the rest of the mounts out the door?
If not, what's happening with them now?

Don't get me wrong. I can see this will be well worth the wait, but you gotta know this is killing us.
Especially after Jay's teaser.

BTW Jay, your voice sounds fine.... Get to work! :construction:

The videos are NOT connected to the release of the mounts.. I don't need THAT kind of pressure
:)

Am I seeing double? This post is running twice...

The Birger / Combo is a complete system.. the inclino and motors are part of another system.. However the Impero will run both the Birger AND the motors

Jay, thanks a LOT for doing the work and posting the video.

I have known since the original NAB 2007 announcement that this mount/lens capability SHOULD be great.

I got a working prototype of the mount in January 2008, and having it physically in my hands gave me confidence that it WOULD get done and that it WOULD be great.

But many of you have taken a rollercoaster ride of anticipation, frustration and sometimes doubt, but that is all water under the bridge - now I think Jay's video shows that it IS REAL and it IS GREAT.

Thanks, Erik and Curt for working together to bring us THE most capable lens solution available for the REDONE. The fact that the mount and EF lenses happen to be amazingly affordable is secondary.
