Birger Lens Mount Reservations

[Frank Weeks]

I just received a FedEd email.

This could be the start of something big. I hope so for all of us,

FWIW, Erik told me the same thing he told Mark. My mount sometime next week.

(edit) Erik, you beat me to it. And thanks.

[Brian Timmons]

Just to let people know. I too just received a Fed EX email and an invoice from Birger. My order was placed Nov 23 about an hour after the post that started this thread.

Brian

[Jason Ing]

We shipped today. We will ship more tomorrow.

Erik, is that you?

Wow... an actual sighting.

:bleh:

j/k Erik.

[Ketch Rossi]

We shipped today. We will ship more tomorrow.

Possibly I'll get to use this mount for the Vegas Show shoot after all, POSSIBLY!

ciao

[Jason Ing]

Is it too early to get excited? I don't want to come out of stage 5 and then get knocked into one of the other stages by disappointment.

But it looks like steam is coming out of the locomotive!

Toot! Toot!

[donatello b]

now that they are shipping i have not heard anything about how Red installing the i/data terminal affects the Birger mount ....
are the i/data contacts on the end of the wire sodered ? or do they just clip in the terminal ? etc ...
anybody have any knowledge on it ???

i did receive a email today stating they are shipping and i have a balance due.

[Stephen Pruitt]

What, exactly, is Birger shipping? A mount that has no working knobs so it can't be used unless it hooked up to a computer via a cable? Sorry guys, but what use is that? A mount without a way to operate it remotely? I wanted this thing for my Actioncam.

Until Erik ships a mount with a working knob, it's worthless to me.

Stephen

[Jason Ing]

Can I get your place in line then?

Uhh... that is if you're in front of me.

[Frank Weeks]

The shipping mount controls the iris. Focus can be done manually.
That's my understanding.

At least it will get us started.

I'll be happy just to be able to put a lens on the camera. The Birger mount has buttons that provide rough aperture control, and that's better than having no mount at all.

I'm really excited to hear that the mounts are actually shipping. Soon, my camera will have sight!

Just a really rough beginning guesstimate

Updated Sept. 26

As you can see I didn't get very far, but this is a rough idea of how many have been ordered. Some names are on more then once and I just left that because some that may have ordered may not have posted. Who knows?

So if they are just starting to go out the door and I ordered mine in June I am guessing there are about 350 altogether. There are probably 200 before me. So that would put me getting it about, hmmmm getting mine in February 2009.
Holy Crap

Oversight. All mounts support IS, VR, etc...
I woke up this morning, surprised to see just how many orders have already landed. Approximate stats:
1. 80% Canon
2. 20% Nikon

Revised number sequence based on Harmonica letting me know what Eric told him his number was.

[Shawn R]

If you want to add your name to the list and when you ordered PM me and I will re-edit my post to include your name and time rather then post after post after post that way anyone can refer back to this post to see how many have been ordered.
I got tired of listing after the first three month....

I am guessing I am number 30 on Andy's list for his mount so maybe that will come 1st.

[Shawn R]

I need a lens in 2 weeks. May have to find a used Red PL. That bites because from what I've read the Canon L Series glass out performs the Red 18-50. Or get the Nikon mount and probably the 17-35...

[Lauri Kettunen]

I ordered November 26 in the morning -2h GMT. Erik told me once I'm number 54.

[A. Bastaki]

We shipped today. We will ship more tomorrow.

Niiiiiice... Can't wait to get my email

[Jay A. Kelley]

I'm taking bets on how little people will post about the mounts once they get them. I'm also taking bets on how fast this thread switches to "WHERE ARE MY&*@(# MOUNTS" to "WHERE ARE MY #*($&# KNOBS!"

Poor Erik.. No rest for the weary

Jay

[Michael Hastings]

My new production mount just arrived via fedex.

My new production mount just arrived via fedex.

My new production mount just arrived via fedex.

I've had one of the original and alpha and beta mounts for a long time since I loaned erik my camera.

But I just received my production mount 9:12 am via FEDEX. Hopefully others are getting a knock on their door, and many more Monday, etc. etc.
