Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Erik,

I assume the offer for the free remote still stands since you haven't announced that you're done processing orders.

I'd really like to get in on this.

Based on Eriks last post I am believing the same thing. I want to get in on this as well but I can't seem to locate the form for ordering on their website. It's probably there but I'm not seeing it.
Can anyone point me to it?

The very first post in this thread has a link.

It would be nice to see some footage of the darn thing actually working... actually pulling a nice slow focus...

I have my concerns, which are compounded by the fact that I'm about to drop $17,000 on Canon lenses.

Surely, Gibby or someone will have shot some test footage!

Erik?

Thor, I advise you NOT to drop any money, before you actually have the mount in your possession.
Lenses are not going anywhere...they are going to be available in weeks or months just as they are now.

Cheers

But the Canon rebate will finish Jan 13.... (i've just bought a 50 1,2...)

Albert,

It's true that Canon lenses aren't going anywhere, but Red lenses are.

As I understand it, when Red calls or emails me to let me know that my camera is ready, I have a small window of opportunity to order accessories and lenses. What ever I don't order at that time, I can get later, but other Red reservation holdes would then have priority since I "had my chance" already to order.

I only have about $15,000 to spend. If I purchase Red lenses during the "window", I will have no budget for Birger / Canon. If I pass up the Red opportunity, it could be months before I could get Red lenses.

So, it would be really nice to know what I've got with Birger, and test footage would help to make these crucial decisions.

For what it is worth, I placed my Birger Canon order on November 30th, before the first deadline, and have yet to receive a confirmation email.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks much.

Stephen

i placed a order on Nov 23 for canon mount and have not received a confirmation ..

i placed a 2nd order on Nov 28th for nikon received confirmation on Nov 29th ..

Hi there, Don*. . .

I wonder if I should be troubled by the lack of a reservation confirmation?

Hmmmmmm. . .

Stephen

No

No

You should NOT worry! I would bet that we are not going to be seeing any more Red cameras ship before the new year. So, there is plenty of time for Erik to do his thing. Erik is working very hard to get all these orders filled. He has already stated that he is backed up in dealing with the receipts, but that he will get to everyone in the order they reserved. It is going to be a great day for all us Canon lovers when we get our units. Just relax. Erik is very dedicated to this product.

As far as I know they are some Birger units out there being tested... Patience.
I have made a large purchase of Nikon/Zeiss lenses prior to RED release, some 4 months ago...to do so I had to sell all my beautiful Canon collection. Well, live and learn.

Don't buy yet, wait
:)

i just tried calling birger and all i got was voice mail - does anyone have erik's cell? how many people actually work there - is it just him.....?

have they gone bust?

thoughts?

cheers,

david
