I have yet to put a lens on the camera (borrowing one in a few minutes), but plugged in to the Birger, the Impero seems happy. I wait 20 seconds and unplug, then turn the Impero on, and all I get is a flashing synch light. Obviously, this is not a sign of good communication.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
I've got less than week to clear this up before our film shoots.
Thanks much.

Stephen, hold the "I" button as you turn the switch on the unit. Use the batteries and make sure its not plugged in (FYI... make sure the batteries are in right, they dont like it when they are backwards). As soon as you hear a click sound let go of the "I" button. It will take a minute to find the mount then the "F-ACTIVE" and "DIR" leds will light up. After that, press and hold the "CAL" button until you hear a beep then let it go. The lens should calibrate to the controller and you should be good to go. Turn the focus wheel and see what happens. Next time you turn the unit on you will not need to re-sync - the unit will automatically connect to the birger mount.I have yet to put a lens on the camera (borrowing one in a few minutes), but plugged in to the Birger, the Impero seems happy. It's up and running and works like a champ. . . except that I am not able to get ANY lens data on the screen, despite following all of the procedures. My guess is that there is a problem with the cable connection with the Birger.
Birger and Viewfactor rock!
Thanks to Erik and Curt, the Birger mount and Impero knob helped us make this shoot happen. Just another use for Birger and Impero.
I just got off the phone with Curt, and 100 Imperos will be in Boston friday morning. I am out on Friday. We took over software development on the Impero a couple of days ago. Ken will wrap the bootloader some time early next week. All Imperos shipping after early next week (whether from Birger or ViewFactor) will all have the same bootloader, which will enable an application from ViewFactor or Birger to be running on the unit. So whether it is a ViewFactor or a Birger Impero is completely up to the customer.
On Monday Amy will start the emails coming.
Since this thread wasn't bombarded with "Yes! my Imperio is on it's way!" I assume the e-mails didn't go out.
Anybody get one this week?
Erik? You got 100 of them. Any updates? I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
