  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Big Change...

28K Projector @1-144Hz for $18K
Red Ray VTR now does 28K for $4K!
4K Multiview Autostereoscopic Display for $4k!
Would you like to know more? :)

Skew goes the way of grain and becomes something people consider adding in post.

But, to me, "Everything Changed" means the lineup shifted.

Maybe they found they could make Scarlet half the size and Epic Scarlet's size?

Hey, I KNOW, they realized we could get Mysterium X as part of the audio board upgrade program and have the first batches done by Christmas!!!

Group Scotch buy?

Group Scotch buy?

Graeme - could you possibly arrange for a group single malt Scotch buy? The last big announcement-night gutted my supply.

Sources at Red have spilled the beans about the " the 13th is insignificant"...
everything has changed: each Scarlet and Epic will come with a pair of Oakley's with
Jarred supplying a DVD on how to use them for X-ray and 3D adaptation to the brains.
Thought you might want to be up on the next announcement. (we've all gone Mad out here in the cold) CL

I'm pleased. The more I dwelt on the ideas of the 13th the more impressed I was with the modularity, and underwhelmed with the specs/price ratio (exhibit A: we completely lost "3k for $3k"). Thankfully we are on a rollercoaster that has just begun, bring it on! :-)

The native ISO has been upped to 500! (I wish)

What I'd like to see (apart from level knobs :) is the side handle be rotatable and slidable... remember every modular setup is going to have a different balance point.

Here's what I think happened:

Jim and company were up late the other night playing with a pre-production Scarlet/Epic, at least the bare boards and all, and someone unplugged something by accident while paling around and they all looked at the screen and Jim said, "Huh... how 'bout that?"

In all seriousness, who knows how RED works these things out, but whatever they're doing, it's working! Can't wait on the announcement, Jim!

I think the news will be sensor-related (e.g. a S35 sensor with 13+ stops and 16 bit A/D is brewing). I can't imagine they'd change the whole modular set-up thing (not after all that work & all those lovely renders!)

They're going to announce that they've monopolized the entire industry--buying out all the top manufacturers!!

...and that the profits they make off the Ones, Scarlets, and Epics will be used for a nationwide economic bailout, ultimately leading to some sort of Nobel Prize for Jannard and Co.....

...and that they'll be releasing the Pink One....

Hi Jim!

What's the good news? are you gonna provide the wider range Prime Lens like 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 18mm? or are you gonna let Red user spend more moneys on the coming Zoom lens like 6-1? 10-1? or may be 12-1? Or may be the Red Owner gonna get more discount on order the extra Red One? Scarlet? or Epic?
Well, let's see...

Bring it on! Although you already blew my mind with the modular design, I'm looking forward to the next announcement after the 3rd! I can't wait to see what Red comes up with next. Let's get that 617 up to 120fps!

I'd want this more than anything else. And Scarlet with higher than 30fps.
