BeSteady FOUR Thread

Yes, that's about right Constantine. I have put over 100 hours into testing the BS4 with every setting kown to man. It has many bugs (software) that keep popping up, always something different each time I turn it on. It has many erratic behaviors that are very frustrating. I had no idea that I would receive a "finished" unit that has so many quirks that I can't even use it except to spend hours and hours doing tests. Tests that have not produced great results and have stolen far too much of my time. FRUSTRATING is the word. The companies are suppose to work these issues out before they ship the units. If they are shipping units before making sure they are able to shoot smooth shots, then why are they shipping them? If Michael's unit works perfectly but mine doesn't, then I have a bad unit. If they just sent a new batch out, will this new batch work? Or will it have the same issues I'm experiencing? Too many unanswered questions and no one is stepping up and answering them.

Does anyone in Chicago have a B4?

Thank you.

Bah , we have the same erratic behaviour with the Ronin, on the pan axis, and the worst bit is that it keeps doing this in unpredictable time , we have just about followed every possible solution to resolve, and its still bloody there, so we are trying to find a way round it, but unfortunately with out luck so far.

All the tests we do and all the videos, its there, and its very frustrating to make tests to test one thing and have this error there all the time messing with everything else, and the worst...it doesnt do this all the time. its a bummer.

hope you will resolve it soon, because I m pretty confident we cant resolve our case. So we are getting more Gimbals soon to have as testers.

kind regards

Carey, what about you post videos of your problems and I can give it a try to help you solve it?
I am more them pleased with the performance of my gimbal, so I don't get what your problem is.

Best Michael

Haven't experienced this on my M15 as of yet, shot a few pretty decent days with it and no issues in any of the axises. Just wish it had small adjustment knobs like a Steadicam/Raptor sled for micro adjustments.

yes correct, M15 doesnt have probs like that, we have checked with various customers and none had any kind of problem so far, they are silky smooth and work as they should .

same for my BeSteady 4 (The Beast)

well that sounds good if it stands for all units shipped, but still Carey has a problem, so maybe is just one unit and loads of bad luck.

Iam sure it will be resolved though, how can it not ? its not logical.

Hi Carey,

We are in touch with you and are working to help out with all the issues you have. As you agreed with our support staff, send us all the videos you can showing the behavior of your unit and I am sure we can sort all this out. The issues are most likely related to an experimental firmware you received while we are working to improve the Autotune function thanks to your valuable feedback. It is not as easy as it sounds and takes much effort. The Beast units are leaving our company fully tested and operational hardware wise so there is very little chance that yours is faulty. We will do what we can to make it work.

Thanks Max... I know you guys are working hard to fix the firmware... but I don't have time to use experimental firmware... can you please send me a stable firmware so that I can use my Beast for shooting? Thanks!

Michael, can you Skype with me? If so, email me at carey(at)careyleecoffey.com

OR you can just Skype me... my Skype name is careyleecoffey

Thanks!

At this point in the game if I was a company owner at BS I would have my #1 guy fly to Coffey, fix 100% of his issues and then issue a summary of what was fixed along with a celebratory video. The behavior of BS towards its customers is baffling at best.

Hi Mike,

US technical support is already running. To contact it please use support@acr-sys.com

Nope! Apparently it's not. Sent another e-mail to them 48 hours ago. Nothing. That was the fourth e-mail since receiving my BS4 back from (3 month) repair a month ago. Had an issue immediately on getting it back and alerted you without saying anything here in public. Can you or someone at ACR get back to me?

I have shipping confirmation and my unit is on it's way via DHL (it's just left Warsaw).

I'm #17 on the list.

I also received shipping confirmation, lucky #13. DHL says estimated delivery this Monday. That's faster than I thought.

Congrats and good luck with the unit Andy! Hopefully this batch has all the kinks ironed out.

We'll see!

I'm busy with another CG project at the moment, so it'll be at least a few weeks before I can do some serious testing,... but, things are moving now, at least.

I wonder how many went out in this batch. Guess we wait for feedback here.

To be fair to ACR, I did get a response from them today. Apparently, my e-mail address got blacklisted accidentally. The issue I was seeing looks like a non-issue. (False error reporting.) The next firmware release will eliminate it. Performance is unaffected.
