  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

Thanks, Peter. Can you update the shipping schedule today? It's been talked about for a while.

Hi Jordan,

I will update the shipping schedule in this week. Like I have said, I need to have confirmation from assembly that all new QC procedures are completed without any problems. We don't like to ship any unit without certainty that it is a problem free.

Best
Peter

Thanks for responding, Peter, to the shipment update question. I know we all appreciate that you are waiting until you have firm confirmations, but I know most of us check that shipping list quite often, hoping to see an update. A post here every couple days, just saying that you're still working on those, even with know progress, would help let us know that it hasn't been forgotten about.

Hi Guys,

We will try to do so after NAB show in Las Vegas - where we will be presenting our new company and new products - and after we will finish delivering units to members of this group buy. It is our priority now.

I will be updating you with information and in case of nay questions, please ask them directly to me at peter@acr-sys.com

Best
Peter

Peter - sent you a couple of mails, can you drop me a reply (just checking they got through!). :)

Since I am not getting any answers via private message, I need to post this publicly:

Max, Piotr - everything seems to be working well with my BeSteady (or ACR Beast now), except the fact that I am unable to use autotune. Is this something that is a software issue that is going to be fixed in a firmware upgrade, or is this something in the hardware that will require me to send my unit back to Poland yet again?

Thank you very much!

I'd love an answer to this question when someone from ACR has a moment.

Thank you!

Piotr. I have to inform you that the non-sponsorship thing here, is due to the situation that has been.

I therefore hope that u appreciate that and contact those in charge as soon as the situation has changed.

This thread actually stays open just because I somehow thought that things could maybe be solvable.

Friendly moderator reminder here.

But u should contact Mr Ramsey if you're on somewhat safe grounds by now.

Mr. Gunleik,
I look forward to hopefully meeting you at NAB and shaking your hand in thanks.

I understand the drop in price. I hope we are reimbursed 20% of what we paid at some point since the final price is so close to our group buy discount.

OR

I hope we will be given all of our accessories and a discount off any other products they ever make. We should be rewarded for our incredible patience and for keeping this business alive… Not only keeping it alive but actually being responsible for financing the creation of "the beast"

Hum, to be honest i dont remember the group buy price. It had been so long.

20% should do, or accessories. We should write a list of wanted accessories.

- Mitchell to besteady mount.
- 100mm 150mm Bowl to besteady mount

Bérenger B. Brillante - if you need this information you may ask Peter directly via email: peter@acr-sys.com. I cannot publish this information online for everybody.

Thanks for posting "wanted accessories" list. If anybody has got something in mind please post it online. Michael Kromschroeder already asked us for some additional mounts, but more knowledge = better accessories, so do not hesitate and get in touch please!

Carey - all additional accessories are still a part of a deal. As you all know, situation was critical and dangerous for whole project. Currently we are coming back to normal operational status under ACR Systems brand and we will ship accessories as well. We did some changes in those (improvements, not cuts!), and I will post more as we will have first special products in our hands ready to be shipped.

About autotune: first of all I need to know which firmware version are you running, with small or large batteries, and what kind of camera are you using (possibly RED, but there's question about lens, power solution and accessories on camera shelf).
You got my Skype, I'm trying to be online during early USA work hours. Otherwise please get in touch with support via ZenDesk / support@acr-sys.com

Gunleik Groven: thank you for watching over us and for your patience. Hopefully we will meet up at NAB. Currently my main focus is deliveries and accessories. After we ship all goods definitely I would like to speak with RedUser.net bosses about future cooperation.

I would also like to ask those whom has already The Beast in their hands:
- please read manual:
http://www.acr-sys.com/download/BS_Four_Manual_v1_2.pdf
- if you got any questions or you just need support, please use support@acr-sys.com -> Mike is in USA, so he will answer you during your work hours.
If there will be need for skype meeting you may get call from Mike, me, or other guys from our company if it will be needed.

Current list of "wanted accessories" for near future:

- Mitchell to Lock'n'load mount
- 100 mm and 150 mm bowl to Lock'n'load mount
- cheeseplate (both types of photo screw) to Lock'n'load
- DJI-style rod-mount for heavy lifters / multirotors (without vibration dumpeners)
- roll axis rotation limiter for stressless inverted-underslung rotation
- cable organizer for side fork arm or for camera shelf

Software requests:
- more stable
correspondence between power sliders for small and large/V-Lock batteries (to be done)
- better autotuning algorithm, especially for lighter cameras (in progress)
- recording camera shelf position for third-party software / camera position tracking (to be done)
- slight changes in low-end and high-end settings for power slider / tilt and pan axis / lower minimum weight on camera shelf to 400 g and higher maximum weight to 7.8 kg (to be done with)
- fix RCU/Thumbstick problem in Inverted Mode (in progress)
- add safety feature / anti-haywire "danger-error" mode (in progress)

New Manager is being prepared as well, this version will be last from BeSteady. After that there will be some changes visible in UX/usability/app ergonomics.

I will keep you posted about those accessories / software related things.

Best regards,
Max Salamonowicz

No word yet on refunds. Can you please update those of us who moved on to other gimbals when exactly to expect a refund?

I'm using a Red Epic, side handle with Redvolt and a Canon 50mm Prime... nothing unusual. The firmware is whatever was on it when you shipped it back to me the second time after repairs. I sent at least 10 messages to Mike via Skype including a video that showed the erratic behavior during autotune, and got no reply. As stated previously, when using autotune, it automatically sets pan/tilt/roll all to 100%... the only way I can get good results is by manually tuning the gimbal. So my question remains: is it a software issue, or a hardware issue?

Edit: I've only ever used the small batteries because we do not have the accessory packs... the large batteries were always intended to power the gimbal + the camera... which I cannot do until I get the proper cabling.

for me makes more sense 20% Reimbursed. I don't want to wait six months for the extra accessories. In addition, ACR or Besteady still have Problems with the production of the gimbal
