  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330730967814?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

powered from dtap to usb from hawk woods ( i-PWR) they actaully made a shorter one for me
http://www.hawkwoods.com/products/c...n_cables_and_plugs.php?mainMenuItemToSlide=10

i've rigged the receiver onto the back of a 7" marshall monitor and put a Vlock plate to power the lot

its been working really well but needs line of sight

Our DP has loved it as it get the director off his shoulder:)

So just to clarify...

what you bought does not send the video signal from the HDMI of the epic wirelessly to an Ipad or Iphone?
So If I understand you correctly the device on ebay does the absolute opposite... it sends the signal from an Iphone to a TV set or such, correct?

Can you explain what use it then would do with an epic, as the epic for sure does not have any HDMI in..... And how do you then use it to with your focus pulller as a second screen or instead of the TeraDeck?

If this is the case I think this thread should be removed as the first couple of posts at least for me, states the absolute opposite... If I would have had my credit card close by I would have ordered one last night.

Can somebody clarify, or am I mistaken here?

I think it is simply a wireless HDMI transmitter/reciever. The special thing about it is that it's small and cheap. Thats it.

Ok but yesterday there was posts here where it was very clearly explained that the unit was used for a shoot to send the signal to the focus pullers Iphone with no delay only 1/4 of a second... less than the LCD. And that you had no problems pulling focus from looking at the iphone or even better the Ipad... So what happen to all that?

I though it was odd when reading it last night as the iphone or ipad can not receive WIFI H.246 signal without delay since that is somehow built into the codec atleast thats was what I was told before.

Björn, there was a confusion, the device sends video FROM Ipad-Iphone wireless, no TO Ipad-Iphone, also, check Teradek's Rod clark devices at Teradek.com, they claim to work with zero delay. They are more expensive thou..

um.....did I ever say anything about an "ipad" or an "iphone"????? no.

Guys!! ZERO confusion here.

THIS IS AN HDMI transmitter and receiver period.

forget the word Iphone and Ipad. THis does not apply.

Very very simple. This allows you to connect a HD screen via HDMI to your Epic without a cable. And it's very low delay.

will work with anything with a WIFI connection..

What do you mean by that, doesn't it set up it's own network? Basically you just plug and play right? Any hdmi output from a camera into the transmitter, then the receiver into a monitor.

Well I'm gettin one...

THANKS OBIN!!

Jake, very simple no buttons. it's awesome

thanks for posting this Obin! I have an electrical genius friend here going to try and make this into a more pro product. I will order a couple today and see if I can get a direct contact to the company who makes them as I have some friends in Hong Kong

Well, technically, yes, it uses WIFI to transmit from one place ( transmiter HDMI in ) to another ( receiver HDMI out ), but as far as I understand, since is Wifi standard 802.11, if you have the IP address of the transmiter, you can stream (in theory) the video from the transmiter to a Web browser or player too..??. No??
