  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just a shout out to the RED team for keeping us informed.

(I'll admit this is a little easier for me as I've got my Weapon MG upgrade and CF 7" monitor showed up last week)

I know waiting can be hard, and makes planning difficult but...

This is SO MUCH BETTER THAN IT USED TO BE!. As an example after months and months of waiting I ended up buying my first RedOne aftermarket as it was the only way to get an EVF (which was evidently made of unicorn blood and unobtainium). Accessories were super hard to come by, there was a time when you couldn't buy drives at all and all RedMags were being allocated to new cameras so no media available except CF, etc. etc. You became friends with fellow RedUsers because you had to trade, barter, loan components to do your work.

RED has made HUGE progress, and the fact that you are getting actual dates from the long lead items helps a ton.

So if i ordered a v mount module rigth when it got available i should get it around the 8th of april. Right?

What about jet pack sdi?
 
Thanks for the updated, But is not really clear where I am, I preorded a Raven and them moved to Scarlet-W (Scarlet Dragon Discount package) the first few days of announcement , When I will be allocated before NAB or After?
 
So if I read this correctly... As of now Scarlet-W V-Lock Packages will not continue allocating until April 8th? And all Raven to Scarlet-W orders will be shipped by April 16th?

Lemme try and simplify... i can see how that got confusing, i fixed my first post.

If you ordered a RAVEN BEFORE the SCARLET-W announcement, and then switched to SCARLET-W, you should be fulfilled in the next week or so ( up to the 5th )

If you ordered a RAVEN AFTER the SCARLET-W announcement, and then switched to SCARLET-W, you should be fulfilled after the above, but before NAB.

Its actually a bit hard to calculate this since accessories are a major part of all this and the orders are all a random mix of different parts.. so it all depends on which accessories you ordered. And of course... in the next couple days if some people switch a long lead item to a short lead item that short lead item becomes longer.

And to top it all off we still are doing alot of Dragon to Weapon upgrades every day, and those guys get to pick up their pieces first.

Thanks, clear explanation. What about the ones who ordered the scarlet-w when announced or who upgrade from the scarlet-d, in the middle of all this organization craziness?

No problem. I know this can all be super confusing and unfortunately that confusion comes with us trying to take care of those who have been along for the ride the longest. It is a total clusterfuck.. and it is easy to see why most companies don't do it.

The logistical disaster we create with our upgrade programs and the extra expense to carry the priority carryover makes absolutely no sense economically... but our customers are like our family and sometimes you do things for your family that simply just don't make much sense. But it feels like the right thing to do.. so we do it.
 
I know a pretty great machinist in Santa Ana if you need any prototypes made. I bet he would have them done by Monday haha
 
Hey Jarred, within all this cool craziness you guys are doing, where do the Scarlet Dragon owners that ordered the discount package sit?

You guys are doing it right! As someone who has been on the ride since the beginning, the special treatment is definitely appreciated!

My Scarlet-W just came back from a week of shooting up in Manitoba, Canada. My clients said the camera performed flawlessly. Great job with the new camera lineup and for hitting the shipping eta

Au contraire: Oliver Williamson's Nobel Prize Lecture in Economics explains it perfectly. TL;DR: a firm's true value is not measured based on instant price and production statistics, but based on its long-term contractual agreements with customers. The RED upgrade program has made me a long-term customer, as evidenced by the fact that I've upgraded both my pre-WEAPON cameras to WEAPON.

Honestly, when I first read the NAB announcement of Weapon MG and saw the prices, my reaction, too, was "this makes absolutely no sense economically" compared to my already-paid-for EPIC-M Dragon and SCARLET DRAGON. But I rallied, got my orders in before the NAB window closed, and so glad I did. WEAPON is the platform DRAGON has been waiting for.
 
Long time red user but finally joined the forum.
I was wondering if there was any approximation on when Pure Scarlet-W orders will start to allocate.
im a Jan 4th time stamp and way far behind but was just curious.
