  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ok.. So it's a bit early for April but since we are so slammed on accessories it is probably worth giving you all an update a little early.

We were hoping to catch up with all the orders where people had Raven orders pre-Scarlet-W announcement and then switched those to Scarlet-W by the end of the month but because of the back-order on accessories its likely going to take us another week or so.

If you switched from Raven to Scarlet-W (till the end of next week) and had your RAVEN order in after the Scarlet-W announcement, you are looking at a before NAB ship date.

So.. as many of you that have been notified that your Weapon or Scarlet-W or Raven brain is ready but your accessories are not, it's probably best for me to just lay out what the accessories are in back-order and what the "caught up " date is for them. Meaning, when current orders for these accessories will be allocated. Here goes...

Base I/O Expander - caught up by 3/28 ( monday )
Jetpack Expander - caught up 3/25 ( today )
I/O V-Lock Expander - caught up by 4/8
7" LCD ALU - Caught up by 3/30
7" LCD Carbon - Caught up by 4/15
4.7" LCD - Caught up by 4/5
DSMC2 EVF - Caught up by 4/5
Lemo Adapter B - Caught up by 4/8
Outrigger Handle - Caught up by 3/30
Universal Handle - Caught up by 3/30
Red Station Mini-Mag - Caught up by 3/29
RED MINI-MAG 120 Caught up by 3/25 ( today )
RED MINI-MAG 240 Caught up by 3/25 ( today )
RED MINI-MAG 512 Caught up by 3/29
RED MINI-MAG 1TB Caught up by 3/25 ( today )

So... what this all means is that if you have a package order that includes any of the above you can see what the long lead items are. If you have a Brain order with various accessories, you can see which ones are slowing you down You can of course, at your own discretion, modify your orders to things that are caught up sooner to get your order sooner, but that is up to you.

I also just checked in with Element Technica who are doing great now that they have separated into their own production house again, and they are experiencing the same overwhelming demand on most of their accessories. They now have machined all the parts for their DSMC2 battery modules V-Lock and AB-Mount and they should be caught up by the end of next week. They just caught up with inventory of the side cheese plates today so if you have your eyes on those you should get them before they are gone again.

OMODs appear to be on track for NAB as well, Mark will give updates as we get close.

Wooden Camera is doing a good job keeping up... Their top plates are in limited supply and their battery plates i believe are due in next week.

Some other 3rd parties should be coming online soon as well that should help even everything out.

I have turned over the prototyping machines to manufacturing to try and keep up with this insane demand at the expense of having less cool new stuff to show at NAB... I figure taking care of everyone waiting is way more important than showing the world new shiny things.

Thanks so much for posting this Jarred. We all know that it's batshit crazy stuff you guys are doing, and minor hiccups happen, but you and Brent and RED being so communicative on where everything stands---it's just plain badass.

I'm glad I check the forum at night. :wink5:

I feel you man.. I just received my personal V-Lock expander a few days ago which seemed like forever... trust me it's well worth the wait :)

I was fortunate enough to rent my Scarlet-W brain out for 3 weeks while I'm waiting, so no rush. Love the communication Jarred. Much appreciated!

good news on the V lock expander. Finally going to get to turn on my CF Weapon. '-)... which was no problem... RED has taught me patience.

How about Scarlet-W brain order placed through a local Red dealer by the end of January 2016. Any guesstimate of shipment date?
 
I ordered my Scatlet-W end of January. Despite of this update from M.Land, I still don't really know when I'm going to get my SW :) I know you guys at RED are doing your best though.

If it were simple, everyone would be doing it. ;)

Kudos for always keeping things clear. It's not always fun or easy to be upfront about backorders, but it sure does make us feel a hell of a lot better. I'm sure every REDuser, and soon-to-be-REDuser, appreciates that.
 
thanks for the update guys, but what about original Raven orders that stuck with Raven, with orders in months even before the scarlet-w and sticking to it, are we not going to be able to get our packages settled first? especially if we ordered in the first 15 minutes of announcement?

jordan, as I mentioned in another thread, remember these SCARLEt-W orders Jarred is referencing were originally RAVEN orders. So, since we have been shipping SCARLET-W a full month before RAVEN, it is a moot point. If they had stayed RAVEN or switched to SCARLET-W, those accessories would have been allocated regardless.

Just would need to add a couple of days to Jarred's estimates to allow for transit time from manufacturing in Irvine to REL....
 
Just joined the Red family after a persistent longing to do so since Red One. I'm anxiously awaiting my Weapon to ship (pending many of the accessories you mentioned) and I've been very impressed with the communication from your customer service staff and even more so to get direct updates from you, Mr. Land. Though it's your quality product that has inspired my purchase, it's always a breath of fresh air to engage with a company that exemplifies any degree of transparency/decency. Kinda like working with someone super talented that's also "not-a-dick." Always worth recognizing. Thanks for the heads up on ship dates...Onward & upward!
